W300 problem: would flashing help? |

I bought my mum a w300 for Xmas, and it's started to develop a problem - the phone won't recognise the memory card. It says there is no card installed, even though the card is fitted tightly in the slot.
Would it be worth reflashing the firmware?

When I took it to the shop, the guy tried a different card, with the same effect. He said to take it to their other branch for repair, but I wondered if it was worth flashing it rather than doing that.

No, it's remained dry as a bone since day of purchase.
