shame on SE, up until this date, they have not yet to release any phone with 16M colors. I do understand and i see their screen have been improved a lot since K750, but it is just a shame that they have not yet implement more colors on it. Nokia has been using 16M color screen since last year.

Why shame.. ?
I think SE know what they are doing.
If I like 16m screen more, then I would stay away from 256k. You have a choose there

Yes you can see the difference. I used to have a Nokia 6300 and they are much brighter and really makes pictures look better. I have noticed the difference between that phones screen and my K800h. So ya talking rubbish man.

Brightness has nothing to do with the amount of colours.

I am not that experienced and my eye is not so heavily trained as yours to notice a difference on numbers of colors my display has. Even my N95 could not note a difference placed next to mine K850i in color numbers. Maybe if I could be patient enough to sit and count the colors on same picture displayed. I will maybe then be able to share my wisdom in a way you have did with me, man.

At least they include a serious amount of internal memory now, z770i is with 32mb the only one below 150MB onboard memory, I'm sure they gonna introduce some phones with 16M screens, because people want it!

It's the same thing as with the Megapixel race and so, more Megapixel doesn't mean better pictures, may even make worse pictures, but they gonna release such products, because they are well aware of the fact that the average Joe/Jane is convinced that more does mean better !!!!!

After having used an HTC, an SE, and a Nokia, I've drawn this uninformed, unprofessional conclusion:

On a 2.8" QVGA screen with 65K colors (the HTC), the screen looks bad. Bad color, bad resolution, large screen.

On the SE...2" QVGA screen, 262K colors, the screen looks great. "Bad" resolution, but the physical size and color make it look good.

On the Nokia...2.6" QVGA screen with 16 million colors. Largish screen, "bad" resolution, but the colors make up for it.

On the new X1...3" screen and only 65K colors...but 800x480 pixels. The lack of colors is offset by the density of the screen.

So, in my own roundabout way, I think the amount of colors a screen has can be offset by the pixel density and the size of the screen. But we'll have to wait and see.

I have downloaded the same pictures on my old 6300 and on my K800i and the pictures on the 6300 were far more colourful and much brighter. And as for battery life well perhaps the other phone manufactuers have something to learn from Panasonic. I used to have a Panasonic phone with 16m colours and the battery life was amazing lasted days and days. I know and have noticed and seen the difference so thats all i have to say.
