Just in case any of you missed it. Just a few minutes ago a scammer posted the following in a topic here on Esato.

Nokia N96 features a 6 megapixel camera. The device has a 3.2 inch, 16 M colours TFT display. It has 10 GB of internal memory. The device weighs 115 gm and measures 102.5 x 56 x 17.6 mm. The handset has support for touchscreen and joystick navigation. Its integrated GPS displays maps of more than 100 countries. The device also has support for EDGE, Bluetooth and HSDPA connectivity.

The Nokia N96 slider phone has a unique design. It has two keypads that open up on opposite sides of the handset. The device can be slide opened either in upward or downward direction. One can gain access to its QWERTY keyboard by slide opening the handset in upward direction. When one moves its display downwards, it reveals another keypad that features a set of multimedia controls. One can also gain access to its navigation and shortcut keys even when the device lies in its slide closed position.

Does he honestly believe members of a mobile phone forum won't know the N96 specs?! Anyway I found it hilarious.

Wonder where he found the QWERTY keyboard! I do not see it

Yeah, apparently it has touch screen too. Well if its a touch screen, it must be the world's least responsive one! Its just as responsive as my W910i's "touchscreen".....

Hi all,

In my latest CNET Newsletter it seems the UK network 3 is going to having the N96 available from September as can be seen here.

http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/0,39029453,49298262-3,00.htm

This along with the E71 and some other top end devices seems to be the direction 3 are now taking. So it looks like we will be able to get some good deals on some top end phones by maybe swapping to 3 along with their great data deals.

felt the same as that of the n81. exact same materials. same loose/creaky back cover, same uncomfortable keypad/dpad (personal opinion) and slider isnt the best.

keep in mind it was a proto.

was told its due for release late sep here in aus. so europe should get it a few weeks before.

I see they are using OLED screens. Whilst i know they improve battery life they are hard to read in sunlight probably the worst.

If I was interested in it that kills any of the interest. First thing for me is build quality followed by excellent call quality then features. Unfortunately this seems to lack the most important- the build quality. Fair enough it is a proto but judging by the end product in the N81 that is unlikely to change.

My N81 feels great, build quality is good, and i love its design, and thats why i realy like the new N79, N85 as well as N96. Keypad is comfortable and very user friendly, especially when compared to the K850 keyboard,N81 keypad is just as user friendly as the W960 keyboard.

Hey GUCCI!

Actually played with the N81 yesterday and to be honest I was disappointed. It did feel cheap, plasticky and not that well built. I'd like to think that by now the build would've been addressed but I guess Nokia has moved on in that area with regard to the N81.

i think the keypad is horrible on the n81. its flat, plastic layout makes it a little uncomfy, imho.
