We're hoping. People have confirmed it, but I don't know whether or not to trust them! I wouldn't want to be disappointed!

From SE "GPS and AGPS white paper" located at http://developer.sonyericsson[....]obal/docstools/misc/p_misc.jsp
"The idea behind Assisted GPS is to decrease the start-up times so that it does not take longer than a warm start, even if the receiver has not been on during the last couple of hours. To achieve this, resources other than the GPS satellites help the GPS receiver to gain the information needed to find the satellite signals and to calculate its position.
In addition to GPS satellites and GPS receivers, the receiver in an A-GPS network communicates with an assistance server. Since the A-GPS receiver and the assistance server share tasks, and the assistance server has high processing power and access to a reference network, the process is quicker and more efficient than regular GPS."

I got to say that the phone looks great, and it's exactly what i have been looking for
BUT!
Windows mobile is something that i DON'T want into my phone... I hope that it would be possible to install an alternative OS (like linux ) into this cool device, and that you could develop own apps into it! |

X1 looks great but it is still a phone. Why aren't there any pics of the dialpad where you use the basic phone features. Also, how do you access the dialpad to enter a phone number.
HTC's Tytn II wasn't very good at this. Way to complicated to make a phone call. I hope SE keep the basic phone features easily accessible. |

How can the system be buggy when it is not even up. It's just a front, only good enough for the announcement, that's why no one can touch it, since it is at least 9 months from completion. You are human alright, just not too bright, criticising what's not even there to begin with
It's funny that you're are speaking of not too bright humans, when you didn't even understood what I wrote in first place.
To start with I didn't criticise anything, but just listed what others have been saying, that is why I started with "people ..." instead of "I".
Than you say that the "system" isn't buggy and I should have rather said that it isn't completed yet ["it is at least 9 months from completion"], which makes me wonder wether you even read my post, because I did wrote about the interface "(it) isn't ready or/and completly buggy", and you do know the meaning of the word "or", do you ? You usually use it if you are not sure about two possibilities !
And just one question I'm curious about, so you think that it was a good idea to introduce a product which isn't working the way it should be, during the presentation [I mean they are talking about xperia being the xperience of a unique and simple user interface, but yet can show us only a few screens and we are just left to blindly believe in their promises] and than it takes another 9 months or so to actually deliver what they promise in first place ?
IMO that's a way to long, if it really takes 9 months to release of the X1 or a stable interface version.

@ Mohammad-Oli & Hansen
thanks mates.
although i'm very pleased with the e90, but X1 will do so better because of mainly one thing: touch screen offers a good degree of freedom in operating the device.

@PeterKay
Hey thanks for all the insight and all the pics. Hopefully hear something about new P device tomorrow.
Have also heard rumors about this being announced in May.....I guess a day's wait will answer the question. |
