@PK
Can you confirm that there is a camera at the front side of the Xperia for video call? On the SE website, it says it can do video calls but I don't see any secondary camera.
Thanks. |

You can actually see it if you look at the live pics, it's at the ride side of the earpiece

Are you sure? I don't see any difference between the RHS and LHS of the earpiece. |

Specs are awesome!!
Looks a bit too "fat" for my taste, and release 2nd half 2008 probably means 1st half 2009.

I just did a size comparison, and was surprised to find it's actually thinner all round than the P1 - and ony few millimetres taller -
http://www.sizeasy.com/page/size_comparison/10179-SE-X1-vs-SE-P1
It adds about twenty grammes to the P1's weight, but it's still perfectly pocketable.

wow awesome phone, looks and specs-wise!! but most probably this will come into the Philippines 2009 at the earliest... time to start saving up!!
i noticed though that on the QWERTY keypad, the key to the left of the smiley button is labeled as a blue rectangle. does anyone have an inkling what that key is for?

It's probably just a Function key, to access the symbols shared on other keys (also coloured blue).
The Smiley button is a lot more intriguing!
It's a shame there are no cursor keys (I guess they just expect you to use the screen/joypad thing, but I'm used to being able to use the keyboard for that on my Tytn II) - but OTOH, the keys look nicely spaced out and everything else is there, included a dedicated comma key - something I miss on my Tytn, where it's one of those symbols you need the Fn button for...

Hi all,
Seeing as few of you are wondering what i would be thinking here it is.
Firstly i think it it is a nice design and looks good the specs also seem good but it 's launch is to far off and this should of been a UIQ Device not a WM devcie as now it is juts like all the other WM devices out there.
A long with the fact that if it is being built by HTC with the software licensed from Microsoft it's not really going to do much for generating and increasing SE's profits even though it may help there market share.
Lastly i would like to point out just what a bunch of Hypocrites a lot of you are look through any of the Ty Tn v P1 type threads and you will see how many of you were happy to slag off WM for numerous perceived deficiencies but surprise surprise now SE is going to be using it is just wonderful and great so transparent and so sad. Yet again this nice product brings nothing new that isn't already available now and lets wait and see what the other manufacturers have in store and will deliver before this even hits the market.
Who knows maybe the P5 will be even better still than this?
Marc

There are some differences between the device shown in this thread and the "official" pictures
instead of blue rectangle we can see on X1 mini website "fn"
instead of smiley there is a "ctrl" button
last instead of windows button there is an "esc"...

On the live pics there is a secondary camera on the front. The presentation images dont show this either. |
