OK, before you go and brick your phones.....,

found this quick tutorial for you on the use of XS++:

>tick smartphone connect and press connect, then do the usual to connect your fone (remove batt, sim, mem card, reinsert battery, hold 'C' and connect)

>once connected go to the GDFS menu on the bottom, and press backup GDFS, once completed dissconnect, remove and reinsert battery, and restart XS++

>connect again and once connected it should show a drop down menu with CDA versions, select P1 WG-1 and press run script, the process should only take a couple of mintues

>lastly, connect into SEUS, it should say that you have a new update available for your fone, start the update, once finished unplug fone and enjoy!

thanks to @mobilemodman for this.

I have not noticed any speed differences compared to latest dutch version.

(For me the GW1 version only has two advantages: iSync calender and rich text emails are both working. Disadvantages: not able to backup and restore, have to confirm to download every e-mail, opera shows links with white background, my contact shortcuts in standby mode have little icons on the pictures.)

-> BootMan *does* start and works perfectly !
Did you install a self-signed version?
It won't start otherwise.

In fact it seems to me this new fw stabilized a lot of crashing apps I had when using the phone on a multitask fashion.
I didn't notice a single problem until now.

You're welcome I've learn't pretty much everything I know about phones via this forum, so I guess it's nice to give something back!

As for your w800, I realy cant say - my experience is limited mainly to p-series phones, all I can suggest is that you do what I do & trawl through the old posts with searches like 'debrand w800i' etc. Maybe even contact gbrooks3 about this...

THe on screen keyboard is much larger which is great and the phone feels faster. For me the issue will be stability (ie let us hope it doesn't crash on charge most nights).

With this new firmware the green tint is virtually gone..

And the pics taken in low light conditions seem to be brighter...

Well, at least for me.

Just a little magenta left in the middle, and a very very little green on the right, but considering the lighting conditions this seems to be acceptable to me.

Look at the pics below.

I took the first two right before flashing, and the last one thereafter.

Same device, same room, same settings and no photoshop.

something more ... is it me only me? or do you also think that one of the changes is the volume level?, i think it is a bit higher! still not the level of the W800i but better then original
there is also high volume warning the + becomes red (or was it this way, don't know anymore)
camera layout is also different, but i think you said all that before

Just upgraded to this firmware and overall I'm satisfied with it. The phone feels a bit faster (if you don't have screen writing recognition on), the camera interface is (again) fast (no more low light lag and slow autofocus) and web access also seems faster. Will do a bit more testing and if anything comes out I'll let you know.

Hello,

I was just wondering if any of you could test the Wallpaper resizing bug they used to have. Is it fixed? Can we now choose the area on a picture which we want to use as a wallpaper. Please let me know. Thanks.
