K850i - Vodafone - R1DA038 - "Proxy Server Error" when accesing the web, but not Vodafone Live! |

Hi All,
Ok, firstly - I work for Vodafone so have tried all the usual fixes & have consulted our Technical Support Dept' but as of yet no fix.
Upgraded my software last night and all was fine. Browsed the web this morning.. still looking good...
..but then when trying to get on DailyMail.com at lunch, I got:
"Proxy server error. Please check the URL and try again. HTTP 400 Bad Request"
Tried another site and got the same. And another, and another.. Infact every non-Vodafone Live page I tried to get onto I got the same error. Tried it on the store phone (R1DA029) and the sites were fine.
I've changed my SIM, Sent new OTA configs, manually input the settings, hard resets, manual roams.. everything and still no joy.
Anyone got any ideas on this or experienced anything similar?
Also, my rss feeds no longer update.. according to the phone "No feed exists at this adress".
Clueless. - and since I use my phone mainly to look at the web.. its a right pain.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Software Upgrade Service
You can improve the efficiency of your phone by downloading the latest software version from Sony Ericsson's site.

Its sounds like that Voda when they approved the software didnt fully test it.
The most common reason is that the networks block the sites (known as Garden Wall) However as you have tried it on another handset and it still works, the fault will be down to the firmware on the phone, Its how the phone looks and sends data to the sites.
If the phone doesnt understand the site, you get the error.
What is the site address?
As you work for VF cant you get a replacement?
Is the phone Vodafone Branded as well? |

I'm guessing the same thing.
Since the RSS no longer works it just looks as though it wasn't fully tested.
The addres' I was trying were:
www.dailymail.com
www.bbc.co.uk
www.arsenal.com
all give the same error and they are fine on the R1DA029 phone.
I've now reflashed it & sent an OTA config from SE and all seems to be working, accessing all sites. Syill no RSS though, I subscribbed on the R1DA029 phone, then manualy put the address in to my phone and yet the phone says no feed exists!
..and Vodafone wont give me a replacement. I will be getting a long term loan of a W960i in a few weeks, so I guess the K850 will take a backstage then anyway... |

I have tried all the sites on mine, I have a o2 branded phone (well it has 1 o2 icon instead of play now) but they all work fine.
Sorry to say but this happens all the time with VF branding.
Its one of the biggest moans and groans on here
I would say that the next update with work fine, but thats a few weeks of i think |
