u should test it on your on first imo. samsungs are more like a nintendo, those funny sounds and when u click the keys and next to it, no support for them... u700 is a design fone, nice screen, but a pain when it comes to usage

afaik u have p990... i would keep p990, only cos of the os, what offers u more possibilities to "create" an individual device. with u700 u get a simple java fone with a cam feature

I wouldn't swap a P990i for it Boba,
it lacks alot of features and it's £100 thats all its worth

H m m m m . . . boba, want the . . while my dear wants the U700

@boba - Yup, the U700 has a 3.2 MP camfone while the P990i has only - 2 MP Samsung has GOOD cameras too, basing it on their - D600 model (2 MP) . . . [addsig]

dont get me wrong, i dont want neither p9 nor u700, but when it comes to a good and acceptable usage, then i rather take p9 then a samsung. but at the end, its really up to u. imo in the last years u made so many experiences with mobile fones, that u know whats the best for your taste.

JoJo, I'd miss the Wi-Fi personally, the U700 is pretty nice but maybe you wanna get rid of Wi-Fi it's your decision

I wouldn't of minded a P990i before I went for my E65 unfortuantley though Vodafone didn't stock it

I did like the P910i back then Touchscreen were really good

JoJo, keep the P990i i'd say,
if you wanna test a U700 wait till it comes down even more as I said they're £100 from Vodafone UK, as I know it's a exclusive handset to them too !

This is a fallacy regarding the megapixel quality of a phone. P990 has a special Sony Sensor that was similar to K750 albeit a slightly larger one(just look at the focal length and it says 5.4mm whilst in k750 it says 4.8mm) and as we all know larger sensors brought better image quality so higher megapixels dont matter unless the sensor is better U700 has worse camera than K800 and K810 and it has even smaller sensor than D900's which was samsung's best 3mp phone back before. so to compare the two P990 is obviously not inferior here but the U700.

regarding the camera performance i had tested that beauty during the exhibit here in SM city baguio and all i can say is that the camera lacks performance as well as the proper usage of autofocus. samsung cameras except the E590("W810 look alike" designed by a famous person or whatever the name it is) autofocus doesn't behave in the same was as SE did, in SE AF phones you will half press the shutter to focus and one more to capture which is similar to dedicated digital cameras, in samsung it's not, anyway i tried to capture moving objects AF on with the U600 that time and you know what happened, the main subject goes blurry and unuseable, since you're a fan of taking pics U700's camera will be the deal breaker for you
