iPhone and Blackberrys sell like hot cakes in the states, but IMO they know Jack **** about mobiles, and would not recognise a decent phone if you introduced them to one internally, if you get my drift
Americans are extremely patriotic phone buyers and in my experience somewhat naive about the cellphone market, which again IMO is much more advanced in Europe and Asia!!

iphone just out sold its competition 2 to 1 if not more lol yeah its not the phone of the year.... lol and i hate the iphone, but they crushed the market....
Please name the iPhone's direct competition. Closest I can think of is the LG Prada and thats not really a high volume seller.

You stole my words!
Fully agree. Americans are stupid on this area - sorry! - and there's no way iPhone will be near as successful in Europe as in USA.

im not stating 100% facts cuz obviously it 2 to 1 is not realistic, but iphone out sold every model near its price range....based on volume..... and as well as profit brought to home company...., i like the n95 better and quiet a few people do, but if were talking #s sold vs what people like... thats diff |

People where do you see the iphone sold more then the n95/95-8gig? I have searched all my 'usual' places and found absolutely nothing hinting even close to that allegation ! Actually the iPhone come late in the year and is not manufactured anywhere near the N95's numbers. Even if your local dealer may have sold more then the n95, does'nt mean more iPhones have been sold overall/worldwide ! Again I am asking: where is the source ? Because I personaly think the N95 outsold the iPhone 3.141592 : 1

NZ is hardly representative of the world market but down here the iPhone has yet to be released officially. Only the Parallel importers have it and for the price (NZD$1299 - the same as LG Prada on release, and NZD$300 more than N95) you can have a half-decent laptop computer...
The iPod Touch is half the price but has proprietary functionality which is off-putting for non Apple freaks like me

Wow, this must be that courtesy I keep heraing about from the rest of the world
The USA (and Canada too) mobile market is developing, not "stupid." We're behind but catching up. The iPhone is proof.
And despite its limitations, the iPhone deserves its award. Large display, beautiful body and UI, ease of use, lagless performance, seamless PC integration... the N95 doesn't even come close in any of these regards. (S60 is like Windows 3.1, for one thing.)
And the iPhone gets better with every update, while the N95 can only offer incremental changes before Nokia makes you buy a whole new model, e.g. N95 > N95-3 > N95-3 8GB ...
Funny how Americans are often accused of posessing a provincial mentality, while said accusers around the world are so very full of themselves.

I would say best phone of 2007 is Nokia E90. Despite all it`s issues it is still the best phone for me 2007 has provided (i might say that in "best phone of 2008" section too)
Nevertheless i must add, i find iPhone a very good multimedia device despite all it`s leaking chips and features (still very usable). So i would say that globally iPhone surely was the most hyped and popular device in 2007. N95 sold quite well too, right?

best phone of 2007 almost certainly belongs to the samsung g600. great features, great build quality, great overall quality, and at a very reasonable price. |
