Well I WAS going to buy a k850i, but let me tell you, I can't say the last time a product disappointed so much, what the heck is SE doing to fix all the issues with this buggy POS? |

Have anyone thought about the possibility that GSM Arena might have a K850 with a slight uncalibrated camera sensor? All their pictures indicate that and in several other reviews the K850 come out on top (like on Mobile Review).

Well if they have, then so have I. Because all their sample photos look exactly like the photos my K850 takes. |

One thing I dont get is even the I phone doesnt get as much hate as the K850i. My K850i takes much better pictures then the ones at GSM. They either have a faulty k850i or they are reducing the settings or quality on purpose. |

K850's mere lost vs all 5mp phones does not justify Cybershot as a whole thing but it justifies SE's pure gimmicky people to wake up and listen to people who seemed to know more than they do. this is not an issue with the Sony Cybershot imaging division as alledged by some SE fans or haters but it's an issue with the people inside SE which continually ditches the use of CCD or Exmor sensor and the persistence of following the trends in having a mirror like finished design which is imho extremely terrible for a Phone company that was once a well respected one who makes camera phones,music phones and smartphones of pure quality! not gimmicks as what was happening at the moment. but anyway i have high hopes for mr pres. Tomiyama to do his job alot better than what mr. Flint did as i honestly hate the way SE was when his admin. was ongoing before i.e. flood of lower class K750 mid range clones, poor software support for UIQ and so on and so forth  i honestly missed the days of SE's reigning moments in imaging, and smartphones hope SE would be back into the game next year

You guys draw to large conclusions on this single test by GSM Arena. GSM Arena might very well have a K850i with a slightly defect camera if you compare their images with other images taken by K850 available on the net. Do you really think that it is only the software that has some flaws in the beginning when a new very advanced phone is launched?
And also it is not SE that manufactures the camera sensors them selves. They buy them from a supplier and that supplier might very well has made a mistake when they increased their production to support the release of K850.
Do you guys read magazines that test car tyres? Well I can say that alot of manufactors of car tyres sends their absolutely best selected (and even preparated) tyres for the magazines to test. If you buy the very same model of the tyre in store you will get a completely different tyre.... I am not saying this has happend, just that you guys who is angry at SE because of this single test should broaden you views and think twice.
I have a K850 since around 2 months and it is a great phone! The best I have ever had, great cool design and great functionality (BestPic is awesome when you want to capture action shots!) and I know it will just become better and better over time with the coming SW upgrades!

The sensor used in the K850i is Sony's IMX020 5 MP CMOS sensor.
Why wouldn't SE use the same sensors that Sony is producing? Sony makes the best CCD and CMOS sensors, and not only for themselves but they also sell large volumes of these to other camera and phone manufacturers. Samsung is also a large image sensor manufacturer and although I have no information which specific type is installed in the G800, no doubt it's one of their own.

Thanks for the info AbuSim. Well, SE is not Sony and SE is not Ericsson. SE is SE and I am sure they will select the best camera sensor available for their Cybershot line regardless of supplier. Anyway, if one check the thread "Post your K850pics" there are some very high quality pictures from K850. |

you have to hand it to samsung the pics are better than the k850.
Im still happy with my K850 tho, i get some real nice pics with it and ones i am happy with, im never going to print larger than 5x7 so i have nothing to worry about.
But i know this time next year im going to think long and hard on whether to go with a SE again, becasue of all the bugs etc and now a lot of other mobile companies seem to be catching up and surpassing the K series phones.
argh actually i just looked at the review someone posted with daylight pics............so much noise from the G800
