Seems like alot of people have firmware problems with their k850's.
When i go to Software version on my phone, this is what i see.
Version:
1200-4404
R1CA029
070922
Sony Ericsson

i know the R1Ca029 is referring to the software release version, but what do the other lines mean?

My camera and flash sync just fine and and my phone doesn't hang or seem to have any of the problems mentioned by others on this forum.

My k850 is unbranded and i bought it from an online store so i have no idea where it was actualy made/released. Can i find that out from the information given about my software version?

hhmmm..i wait to my local cell phone work shop have it, (10 Dec or something)...i allways DPY uppdate my phones...much better....

i have done it myself several times, sure, it works ok, but two times it didnt work 100%. i allways feel i get a faster phone when i DPY flash(uppdate)...can only be done from a workshop.

so wait to 10 Dec...then go down to your local work shop(if you have one) and they fix it for you...PLUS, it seems thats a BIGGER firmware who arrives 10 dec, (im not sure...but i think so).

the result with DPY is: little more stable & little faster UI, less software issues, (because you erase every old software first...its often there the problems lays..old fragments who disturb the new software)........you get the software installed on 100% clean memory, (when you do it yourself, you DONT erase everything first....(the firmware put it self layer on layer if you understand)

just a tip

ps..just ask some work shop the different between DPY and do it yourself, and they tell you the same thing...DPY is of course free, (goes under the warranty)

Guys,

My k850i version is as below -

1200-4400
R1CA037
071012

Is it better? I have no issues at all with my phone. I just luv it. Only issue is I am not able to sync it with my PC or take backup. I wonder what could be the problem, when nobody else is facing it.

Any help? Or this update on 10 Dec could help me?

Cheers / Raj

R1CA037 is the newest one..

@plankgatan

You cant get a better phone just because you update it in a service center, that would break down all the laws of physics. And I guess you know pretty much physics, right?
