Yet another bug in the P1i...

If you have the SIM lock on, enter voice commands onto your contacts, switch the phone off then on again the P1i is unable to read contacts from the SIM and just sits there saying "Busy reading from SIM.

Its also stops displaying the contact information on any SMS messages you receive from some but not all of the contacts.

The only way to resolve it is to either turn off SIM lock and restart the phone but this means no SIM security...
or
Remove ALL voice commands from your contacts.

See also this thread from another forum
http://www.mobileplanet.com/ft.aspx?k=97894.

I can recreate this everytime on not only my 3G SIM but other O2 3G SIMS from other handsets.

Although I think it may also may connected to the backup/restore application which if after doing a restore rebulids the voice command folder within contacts but doesn't restore the actual voices.

Firmware is R9J005 on O2 branded phone

From the sound of it, using Voice Dial for contacts leads to such problems. Those who've disabled voice dialling or voice commands on their contacts face no issues.

Damn! I've just been exploring how to attach and use voice commands!
