How easy is it to de-brand my K850 with Da Vinci? I only have the data cable in the box do I need a specific one? And can I do it on my mac or do I have to use the dreaded PC?

Thanks

I don't think the client supports the Mac check on their forums.

I think it will work with MAC.

If you debrand and change languages etc.. If you get drivers works, then there is no any problems..

I decided to use my PC to be safe, it does not seem to work, should it work with the bundled USB cable?

I've used DaVinci many times (debranding and unlocking a W800, debranding and unlocking a K800, unlocking and model changing a K800 different to a K810, debranding, unlocking, then rebranding a K610) and curently I only have one issue with them. They don't have any generic firmware for the K850 so debranding cannot be done yet. When they get the generic firmwares for the K850 I'll be a much happier bunny.

Your in-the-box data cable is all you need. As someone already said, check the forums for MAC compatibility. I've had a quick check on their site just now and it doesn't look like it is to me. Try it and see

I tried to but the link is dead on their site, has anyone got them?

They say they can on the site which is why I bought credit, so what will happen if I do manage to run this?

I have now managed to run the debrand, and it does not work, the procedure was sucessful (apparently) but there is no difference, the icons are the same and I still have a Vodafone startup and shutdown screen, I am seriously unhappy.

well, it support unbrand. Did you choose right language pack.

I did upgrade mine W910 to Asian language, Had a Kent Edition, that got a special Icon for internet.. that was replaced by SE original internet Icon..

And phone works awesome .

Toke me 5 min install the usb driver.. that Vista was not like XP, but I did it..

As I said before there aren't any generic firmwares available yet. The client does support debranding of K850 but only should the correct firmware be available. There should be generic(completely debranded) firmware coming soon with DaVinci and it'll be clear which ones they are because they'll be called generic. What you've probably done is flash your phone with a newer vodafone firmware or used a firmware with voda customisation. If it would be helpful to you I'll message up on here when the generic firmwares are available through DaVinci or elsewhere and point in the right direction as to exactly which firmware you'll need from the list. I'm monitoring for the firmware for myself anyway.

That sounds like what I have done, I have just restarted my phone and there is not a Voda startup or shutdown, so it must have done something, oh well that's £8 wasted!

If you can let me know when it is available I would really appreciate it.
