mine has the earlier firmware...works fine...only sometimes, video playback is slow while sound surpasses it or vice versa...
also, i fell on top of the phone THAT gave me a creaky back but fixed it by stuffing some paper in a crevice
Works perfectly for me currently...no issues....the video problem is actually pretty cool and results is HILARIOUS video playback...good fun

If u have decided the k850i then go with it.
I have one thing to say and one thing to request from you.
I want to say
"This is how faulty the SE Cybershot have become"
I want to request
After u have bought the phone, there is dedicated thread for K850i bugs
please post the bugs there so that it can be rectified.
Thanks
So now is it true or not? |

nearly every new phones have small problems...w910, k850, w960, N95, etc, etc, etc
its nothing odd with that...k850 is still a awesome phone with good build quality, good sound & a very good camera...(my k850 works perfect, the chassi is perfect, no strange sounds, no loose screen, no dust....nothing)
Sonyericsson is well-known around the world for thier good quality & design, (not the opposite)

So far, so jolly well good. No creaks, no loose screen, no crappy build quality, Camera lens cover still slides back and forward like a well oiled machine, nowt wrong with it, just the BLOODY SOFTWARE. Maybe I was lucky, I dunno. You'll never beat the K800 though, that one was bombproof. Mine fell from a moving forklift at nearly 30 miles an hour, and still worked fine. I'm never going anywhere else any more, looks like I got the SE bug.

I agree, going from the k800 to the k850 was like going from Bentley to Fiat.
But when I had the keypad backlights repaired the phone was sent back and the battery cover is no longer loose and the phone is generally less creaky.
But now theres a gap between the bottom of the screen and the keypad panel and you can see a light through the gap.
It's no good! I need a nokia! |

Surely after 5 months of the phone having been released SE must have sorted out the build quality issues (crackling back cover among others). I hope they're not as stupid and arrogant as to let this slide after so long. |
