A jolly nice gimmick QR codes - try this http://www.getjar.com/products/5265/J2MEQRCode

However, the activation code link on the site does not seem to be working... pity... plus no joy with the decoding of camera captures - it always fails. It reads other QR code pictures saved in the phone memory / card though.

and this for the fun of it provided that you use Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2780

Cheers!

P.S. Other mosly reliable freeware QR code capturing software links: The Kaywa Reader http://reader.kaywa.com/ and Qode http://www.qode.com/en/handsets.jsp?flash= (already mentioned here on Esato last year here http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=132933)

Thanks for the links, especially the Firefox plug in, that's superb.

As you've said, decoding the captures doesn't work. I've tried quite a few of the QR apps, none of them seem to work. Oh well, seemed like a great little gadget.

The Kaywa Reader does work for me most of the time. Other apps I've mentioned are not very reliable though. And it's quite a pity that none except J2MEQRCode have the feature to read the captures saved on the MSPD or in phone memory.

I find capturing long web addresses via Kaywa (using the Firefox plugin) and turning them nice and easy into say W850 RSS feeds quite useful.

Try keeping the phone fairly near to the PC screen and taking a photo in Kaywa. You'll need a steady hand due to the lack of AF. Try several times, it should work, eventually .

Cheers!

Thanks for the advice mobse, Kaywa is the QR reader I'm using...Not much success yet with the capturing, but I'll keep trying!
