displaying of reg marks on cars (UK) |

as some of you are aware, I crashed my car the other day, and I fear they are going to write it off, if that is the case I lose the right to use my number plate, while the place is not cherished in the DVLAs eyes, it's special to me.. HD*5 BRX is my plate and those of you that know me, know that relates quite nicely to my surname.
What i want to know is, my mark, is there anyway I can keep it? looking on the DVLA site, it appears as though I can but I need to tell my insurer that i want to keep it, and then let the DVLA know and they take it from there...
Does anyone know how this works?
ta!

I'm pretty sure it'd be the DVLA you'd need to contact on this one.
The plate needs to be transferred from the car to a certificate or just transfer it straight to a new car.
That should be how it works, correct me if I'm wrong.
