Im also using a pair of Sennheisers!  they realy do bring out the best in audio in what ever you plug them into. Ive had plenty of time to play with a W910, my ex's W960, and loads of others, including my K850 as well, wasnt impressed by the SEs, i had to put in modded acoustics (W980 acoustics) in my K850,it still doesnt sound as good as the N81, the reviews just confirmed it for me. Maybe the newer W995 has superior (doubt it) but i know the W910 wasnt that great,good thing you're using an excellent headset with it. Ive never compared my phone to stand alone players, was never into them, ever since my W800 ive never thought of getting an iPod or anything. But ive heard the Zunes etc. . .are brilliant, would be interesting to hear how the W910 compares to it.

The one thing I can bring up against my test is that I have no more gadgets to compare to. But what I have is inferior to the w910, that is for sure, and they are all dedicated mp3 players. I am not saying that there couldn't be a better player, probably there is. What I am saying that the w910 is an excellent music device with a top notch sound quality a pleasure listen to and better (even if it is a colored sound) than many other dedicated players. Whoever reviews it with a good pair of headphones, greatly mastered music with high quality mp3s and says that it is crap is an idiot. Now the N81 might be even better, the iPhone isn't. On the other hand I don't really see why is it so surprising to have a good sounding device from SONY. It is like having a bad Mercedes as a car. Not to mention the 2008 Best Hendset Award. Sony is in the media business for many decades, inventing betamax video, flat screen tv, walkman, minidisc, blueray you name it, they invented portable audio and currently one of the highest praised dedicated mp3 player is the SONY X series. I think they know something about SQ. I admit SONY has poor sounding devices, but never on the top end of a product line ever! a top end SONY is always a good bet... so is the w910i |

i would say the sound quality on the backspeaker is not that good but on the handsfree it's excellent and this can be enhanced further with modded driver
