yup..

I don't want to know if it's sc-ones or sc-owns.

the real question is..

jam then cream or cream then jam?

or and do you also put butter on them?

so butter, jam cream or

butter, cream jam?

oh and it's time for scones all round the year, not just a summery thing..

oh and if want to be proper hardcore, butter, cream then black treacle..

sorts out the men from the boys.

Butter, cream, and then jam. Nothing to do with the taste, just presentation. And a cup of good quality tea from a china pot with milk and a little sugar.

controversial cyco!

I think is boils down where it's served...

One's a Cornish scone and one's a Devonshire scone

fresh cream Lee? i do hope you mean fresh clotted cream? it just ain't ball if you're not using clotted cream..

just had me a nice fruit scone

I'd have cucumber sandwiches too if I wasn't allergic to cucumber. It makes me come out in a rash and suffer flatulence which is rather distressing for my guests as I'm sure you can imagine.

defo the jam then the cream.... i mean spreading the jam on top of the cream is gonna be messy cream would be pushed/squashed off the scone, unless you just put a lump of jam on the cream without spreading it presentation would/does look better with jam FIRST!
some nice whipped cream (not the can whipped cream) i mean the normal cream, fresh, but whipped your self, or thickened cream...... if not jam and cream combo, its just butter on its own......... geez Mum hasnt made these in yonks. I know what im telling her in the morning

Decent quality butter is all a good scone needs IMO, no need to over-egg the pudding with anything else
