Hi,

Got fed up waiting for SE to announce a phone that made me really excited so just bought a new w890 on ebay(sim free unbranded) for £145 inc p&p. It looks like a good deal to me. Have I bought a good phone? and is it a good deal? I've had a look at this thread and the comments seem to be mixed.

If thers stereo speaker then why the ring sound is too low?

Stereo MEANS that one channel is reproduced by the rear speaker and the second channel is reproduced by the front speaker...it DOESN'T MEAN loud!

By the way, the ringing volume is quite acceptable in my opinion.

Hello all,

My first post..

I've read the length and breadth of this topic as well searched the forum for information regarding on screen symbols.

I've just bought my black piece..and it "sometimes" gives me 'H" symbol next the network signal strength bar.

Then theres always either a "G" or "E" just above the signal bar.

Its quite intriguing..and I really want to know what it means..strange theres nothing about it in the manual and on the SE site.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

That symbol tells you the speed of the network available to you. G - GPRS, E - EDGE, H - HSDPA (fast 3.6 Mbps).

Man !!

Are you guys always logged on and refreshing this page every minute ?

I barely put in the post 30 seconds back. Nice...Now I understand you guys have been "Esatonians and SEsians" forever...it'll be nice to share the love...

Im a returning SE user after a 3 year hiatus with nokia ...and wondering why I left in the first place..SE is a better family than nokia..

I've just bought my phone and just about to take a headfirst plunge into its usability and features.

Is there any site which gives all information about the on screen symbols of W890i. ( Like how I can write 890 with a slide of the finger on the keyboard)

Anybody know if the phone have a screensaver clock? Can't find it - and the only way I can check the time or if I've gotten any sms'es I have to plass the volume keys.

Have SE stopped with the good old screensaverclock that thay always had on the phones before? (Because my K850i doesn't either has it).

Yeah they've stopped putting in the screensaver clock much to the confusion of many users. It really should have been at least optional to turn it on, but for now you'll have to get used to pressing the volume keys. It shouldn't take you long, as you've obviously had experience with a K850i.

Do any of you fine people know if there will be a Firmware thread starting for the W890?

Not that I am experiencing any issues, but the W910 firmware post was started pretty much as soon as the phone came out to my thoughts.

Thanks in advance.

Got one few days ago. Really a very nice piece of technology covered in a very nice design. Absolutely cool.
Even the camera is not that bad as I was afraid about....what a shame AF is not implemented....Do not hesitate....get one for you as well

Hi Guys I was wondering if its worth upgrading from my W880i. I love the W880i and was wondering if the W890i is an improvement.

Mostly does it ring louder?
Does it really have stereo speakers?
Does it vibrate stronger?

I'm thinking of getting the black one is it constructed as solidly as the W880i?

I'm passing through Singapore in June and was thinking of getting one there will I have any problems using it in Europe if I get it from Singapore?

Size wise is the screen noticeably bigger? And is the phone itself noticeably bigger than the W880i?

Thanks guys.
