Sealover's P5 concept and this thingy are nice, but i don't think they are good for real. i find them non-SE in style and design. what i want is a P5 in which at first glance you will say "it's a Sony"-Ericsson! phone. not something that looks like a copycat of Prada or iPhone. another is that when we saw P5 for the first time the first thing that could poped-up in our mind about the design is a Philosophy Trademark of SE(like T68/P800, S700 which are all unique, like.no.other), not an iPhone/Prada design philosophy

Sealover's design (allbeit very similar to the W910i with different buttons) looks far far better than whatever that is. Im talking about the hardware only not the UI. That said, the UI looks cool like that, but im not sure it would be very convenient in real life situations. Will just have to wait and find out
Anyway, I hate the iphone, and I want it to look like another SE high end masterpiece, not just one more iphone wannabe. Looking at the changes to the UI and hardware its pretty obvious that this could be going in that direction. I really hope that isnt the case.

Can anyone remind me what the point of this thread is, and why it is not locked by now? |

True . I just think that if they keep religiously following iphone design features and trying to pass them off as their own, its going to take away much of what I like this phone for. I DONT want it to just have one button like the iphone does. I want it to have the jog dial couple, stylus and the d pad. These three are all standard and almost seem trademark features of sony ericsson, particularly the first 2. I dont want to see the UI becoming so simple that it insults my intelligence (IE APPLE FIRMWARE). I want it to be different and innovative compared to what has been seen before, but different on a SE level, not on an apple or iphone one. Even in the latter SE releases it can be seen that this is the sort of design theyre picking up. Look how the W960i and K850i are suddenly made to look glossy on their whole front face. Remind you of anyone? *Drum roll* IPHONE! Still, those designs maintain their SE punch and still include every odd feature which I think makes SE great. Lets hope the design of the hardware, features and UI of the P5i keep their roots, innovate, but still thrash the iphone! Better late than never SE!
I still wonder whether or not it will have a whole Qwerty keyboard slide out. More importantly, if it does, then id expect it to have access to the FULL internet (ie I want flash player bundled)- see Opera 8.65 or later releases. I doubt the camera will be optical zoom though. If they couldnt do it in the candybar form factor for the K850i, then they cant engineer it into a slider which is meant to be so thin. Still, we must remember that some of the specs we have heard are real, others are intertwined with rumour. As long as it has the full camera functionalities mentioned, full access to the internet, great gaming capabilities, a great music player and one hell of a screen to watch movies on, I doubt I will resist it . |

that looks amazing sealover. almost looks like the Sony micro PCs the way the qwerty slides out like that. Although I like it, I'm curious about 1 handed use for texting or writing emails.
but awesome photoshop. looks great and keep up the good work. hopefully we'll get some good news on tuesday! |

Doubtful there'd be a walkman version of this phone since this is meant to be the flagship for the P-series. Walkman is an entirely different model line. Although they'd incorporate music features into this phone, unlikely for them to rebrand it as a walkman phone.
just my opinion. also, i hope it's real. 2 days and hopefully we'll find out.
