Hi all, is there any news on getting the walkman player over to p1, is it really that hard to copy files/registry from w960 to p1i, i'm a complete layman on this issue i just now that i want the functionality of p1 with good music player. i cant believe that sonyericsson is so thick that tehy don't provide a download option even if we have to pay something for downloading the walkman player. I know i would.

Hi,

it's quite simple why they don't offer it:
Who would buy a w960i for around 700 euro when you could have the music player (the only thing who's worth the money, cause 8gb you can also have on a m2 card for 90 euro) for a few bugs on the P1i?

Answer: almost NOBODY!!

If they would sell one SUPER-mobile phone they would never reach the needed numbers of selled mobiles to survive as a company.

grz

Chris

Hi, i'ma noob on technical issues, but i think that some1 shld focus time on creating a cloned walkman player app for P1i. There are some UIQ media players, eg: ALON AUDIO, that work on P1i but keeps crashing on my P1i. I've yet to know the reason why. I oso hope that a patch can b created to allow custom EQ settings on both the P1i and the W960i. Currently, my P1i does not allow custom EQ settings, and i suspect that to be the same on the W960i

Manual Equalizer is what I'm really missing, other then that my P1 works great with a HBH DS-980 BT headset. But I really dislike the predefined EQ settings, even my W800 had better options there!

W960 does not have memory card slot so how will P1 support M2 card after you update its firmware? Using Swiss?

I don't know if someone talked about it before, but I just realized that the Walkman 3 interface doesn't have the "play/pause" "forward" "reverse" buttons on the screen.

So how can this be solved on the P1i? I don't like the scrollwheel to do "play/pause" like it's already possible. There's no "play" button in the bottom of the screen like in the P1.

So the main problems are:
- M2 recognition
- Qwerty functionnality
- no dedicated play/pause/etc buttons
- the "@" button instead of the two volume buttons
- "C" and "walkman" buttons on the w960 and not on the P1

Is there a way to solve all those differences? How did they do on the M600->W950 conversion?

the play/pause, skip track are handle by touch sensitive buttons outside of the screen on the w960i, the person who is doing the conversion has already got these to function on the 1,2&3 buttons of the p1i

the rest can be taken care of and the conversion's release is only a matter of time.

I have the play/pause, next/prev and volume buttons on my mbw-150 watch, so solved that but I don't want to loose the qwerty and M2, hope someone will find a solution just like with the m600 running w950 fw.
