heya all,
got a question id like to ask...... i know when you have 3g coverage/reception, ie, you are in a 3g coverage area, a blue and white symbol shows on top left screen to indicate you have 3g coverage (older phones) or on newer phones, like my k850i, it has a little square which says 3g.... just wondering is there are symbol for when there is hsdpa coverage? or will it just be the 3g symbol?

My W910i has a blue square with a "H" in it most times. Other times it will say "3G" in that square.
Maybe the H is for HSDPA.
BTW, W910i, T650i and P1i stock just arrived in Melbourne yesterday.

instead of "h" i would prefer 3.5, like in n95. or is "h" only at vodafone branded ones?

Thanks boba, I didn't know there was a separate symbol for 3.5G.
T-Mobile's 3G and 3.5G have the same footprint in the UK so hopefully it'll be commonplace.

I saw the T650i Blue in Optus World Brimbank and Watergardens,
All phones Watergardens and the Sony Ericsson store had the W910i black (comes with a free M2-USB adaptor and MMC-70 music cable) - $749 and I was told that all Optus World stores should be receiving their W910i's from today and sell them $0 on a 79 Cap.
Organiser World in LaTrobe St has the P1i for $849. They ordered 15 and already sold 13 in the first 2 days to the people on their waiting lists.
'3' stores received the K770i in Purple $0 on a 49 Cap, Optus will get the Brown and Voda will get the silver one $0 on a 49 Maxi Cap.
Vodafone will get the W910i in about a week $0 on a 79 Cap and the Blue K850i $0 on a 79 Cap from next week.
The bad news I got from Telstra is that the Z750i, W910i and K850i is now delayed until just before Xmas or just after new year.

all i every get with both the k850i and w910i is the "3G' symbol on o2 uk, so the o2 hsdpa coverage can't be to hot in glasgow.
but as soon as i stick my vodafone sim card in i get the little "H" symbol all the time.

imo most operators offer hsdpa already, so amybe it will be fixed in the upcoming fw, cos its a bit confusing not to know, if its 3g or hsdpa imo...
funny, that voda fw is "developed" then the generic one

Its the same where I am. I found O2's 3G to be very patchy which is why I moved over to t-mobile but apparently, O2 do have HSDPA up and running according to wikipedia.

I read the aricle below (its in Swedish) and it appears that H or 3G+ should be shown if you have a turbo connection, but this depend on some configuration parameters for the network. If the parameters are not set you still may have turbo connection without having any symbols showing, so better do a download test to be 100% sure.

Hi all
Well in the Nokia's it will only show 3.5 G whilst it s actually using Data i would guess it would be the same for SE phones as HSDPA is not used for voice only for Data. But who knows maybe Voda have it set up to even show availability. Unless of course Superluminova you have an app like push E-Mail running and keeping an active Data connection.

Anyone on a K850i on T-Mobile's network seen the logo change from 3G to H? I've checked with Tech Support and apparently HSDPA is definitely active on my a/c but I'm not seeing the logo on the phone screen. Download speed is about 600kbps so I presume it must be active (as it's above the standard 384kbps of non-HSDPA 3G) but certainly not as fast as I was hoping for.
Cheers
