Just got my K850i yesterday and have read all the stuff about the flash being out of synch etc but even when I take a picture indoors in fairly bright conditions with flash on the pictures come out dark... what am I doing wrong?

Hold your phone in a way so that your fingers does not block the light sensors, which is located just below the LED. If it still comes out not very bright, use twilight portrait setting. If not, OFF your flash. Even commercial Digital camera flash cannot fully brighten a very big room, unless you used a very powerful flash.

my english is sometimes hard to understand.................what i mean is that example ISO.100 gives awesome flash pictures & perfect to use in strong sunshine, (depending of the light), etc, etc, etc

ye i know, but what im asking is..the k850 doesnt choose the right ISO setting by itself when you are making flash pictures or pictures in strong sunshine?

he he he..of course it does..(that does every cameras on every phones/digi cams)

the thing is that you "help" the camera to choose the right ISO setting...sometimes the result gets better, sometimes not, (thats why made that feature)

example with flash, i allways get best pics with iso.100

example strong sunshine i often use iso.100, (because the camera will use iso.64)

because 029 and 037 is the same software...just 2 different versions...there is no major bug fixes between them.... released k850 with 2 different versions....(but they are the same....ive read about many people who also thought it was a new firmware, and they didnt feel any different at all................call 013-244500 (supporten) and hear for yourself............

May so be, but why was I able to update?
If it is the same software why did they make two versions and later migrate 029 users to 037?

questions but no answers i guess..

K850 Firmware Overview

Each firmware revision listed below contains the fixes listed against that revision plus the fixes of all the firmwares below that entry.

R1CA037
- Released to SE Service Centres around 25/10/07
- Released on SEUS starting 3/12/07 (Nordic)

Improvements / Changes
- The Media player speed has been increased when dealing with many entries.

Bug fixes
- Fixed flash synchronization, preventing photos taken in dark conditions from coming out as very dark or black.
- Prevent some boot issues due to Java Script errors.

Bugs
- Shuffle functionality in the Media Player repeats the same track until you manually skip to the next.

R1CA029
- First release

Bugs
- The flash doesn't always sync with the image capture, leaving dark or black photos in night conditions.
- Play/Pause and FF/RW controls on HPM-82 do not work
- Phone can crash when using HPM-82
- Phone can crash whilst in standby mode, requiring a hard reboot (taking the battery out)
- Audiobook functionaility cannot be accessed

Seems to me that those bugs from 029 that i had is gone now. But i haven't tried out the phone that much (loads of things to do in school atm).
It feels like the flash sync better now, and that is to me an update..
