A good read for those of you interested in the super-high-tech N95 8gb by Steve Litchfield at AllAboutSymbian.com.

http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/reviews/item/Nokia_N95_8GB.php

His conclusion:

"Is this the best smartphone ever made? Yes. You could even drop the 'smart' bit and call it the 'best phone ever made', since this will be sold in High Street shops and picked up, as the original was, by people from all walks of life, most of whom have never even heard the term 'smartphone'."

i wouldnt say its the "best"... its a nice upgrade of n95, but still the same disappointing cam and screen ( as i see ) but the design its better imo and the more powerful battery (a which would have been released with n95 too ) but one thing is sure, ppl will buy it as candy

The main thing that put me off the N95 originally was the battery life. It seemed a good upgrade from my current W900 whereas most other phones lacked the video recording quality of my W900.

If it's true that the battery life now is up to 50% better than the original model then that makes it seriously worthy of consideration again. The battery itself apparently only gives you another 25% or so of life but then revisions to the firmware with better power management apparently bring that up to around 50%.

One of the biggest reasons to get rid of N95 for me was the build quality. Review mentions that build quality is better, .. I surely would like to see/test that. When is this thing going to be available in Europe?

So you're saying the lens cover was the only difference between the N80 and N95?!?!? Its a recessed lens, dont worry.

I have one, along with the traditional N95, and I have to say the new 8 GB version is defo built better.

Slider mechanism is smoother, no rattles, and not loose at all. The buttons are nicer and the screen notibly larger and brighter.

I also picked up the new LG KU990 Viewty, and I have to say, it's very nice, really well built and wellfeatured.

My friend who works at Vodafone said they got them in the store yesterday... I can get one on an upgrade for 75... that's worthy of some serious consideration...

i love vodafone they have just given me the 8gb on a 25 tariff 12month commitment for only 12 so cant argue with that. the geordie girl that sold me it also sounded rather hot. so total cost for me was only 312 all in. what you think
