K850i - Slow slow slow! |

Is it just me or do the menus all run a lot slower than previous SE phones?
I have a K750 which is miles smoother when scrolling through menus whereas the spanking new K850 judders through like an old age pensioner.
Even the other halfs W880i is faster! Can a software update remedy this? As it stands it's a pain in the arse.

Yes,K850i is pretty slow, but it is based in a new platform,so we must expect some firmware updates which will make it faster!

The problem is because it's based on this new platform, and it's the first from with this platform (along with W910). So these first won't be fully optimized.

Im sure that we will see the speed getting increased with every new update. And that will come very soon, im sure... Maybe in weeks or even a few days. |

Sorry but i just don't understand the point you are trying to get across, yes it is a new platform but it was delayed before launching. Surely the time to optimise it and get the firmware right is before launch not after? Every one knows no device from any manufacturer is perfect at launch and unfortunately we have grown to accept this.
Buy why should customers have to put up with buggy firmware that needs to optimised to function as what they believed they were buying and paid top prices for. A few minor bugs to be sorted out with quick release of Firmware is one thing although IMO still not right again from any manufacturer but these problems really can't be described as either minor or just a few IMO.
I am not having a go at SE as they most certainly are not the only ones guilty of this not by along way. But this still does not excuse what is happening, how can it.

Who says it's been delayed? Well, have you ever had an OS that's been fully optimized while launching? Not really, eh. Updates have always come!

Dude, you've just said that the time to optimize is before launch, and now agrees that none is perfect at launch...

Understandable, and I fully agree. But dude, you've got to remember that this is the first phone with this platform - if you have a look at W880 (A100), then its firmware is without doubt less buggy than the first K800 firmware was. It gets enhanced over time, and this is quite normal.

Agreed. is not the only one, and it is not excuse, but that's what happens these days. And it's starting to become normal. Unfortunately.

mine to...its "much" faster then my old w810...(you need to DPY flash (uppdate) your phone...then it will run more smothly (just reinstall (DPY flash) the same firmware by your local work shop....
DPY flash can only be done by a work shop..(it install the software on a clean memory......its the best way to install your firmware...less buggs, etc)

And how would I find a 'workshop' that can do this? I live in Liverpool, UK.

Ring up SE or Carphone Warehouse...
See where a local SERVICE centre is to you... and take it to them.
Cheers

Well your saying k850i is slow, but w960i is more slower than that.
Note:I have tried both the phones

That's out of topic, and a lame comment, if I may add.
