K800i keypad problem. |

Hey all,
Last tuesday I got myself a really weird keypad problem on my K800i.
When I'm in the menu or dialing a number the following keys dont work:
- Power button
- Joypad Right
- Joypad Left
- Keys 2,3,8,9
- Camera button on the side
But:
- Power button works when the phone is turned of
- Joypad and keys work when I'm playing a java game
- Joypad works when I'm reading an SMS
This is what I tried:
- Opende my K800i and cleaned all contacts (display, keypads) and mounted it back together
- Flashed my EROM/EPROM (not sure what it's called exactly), using WotanClient (holding keys 2 and 5 while connecting the USB Cable)
- Overwritten the software again using WotanClient (CID51, R1KG001)
But above mentioned did not weird. As the keys work when using java I doubt it that it's caused by a false contact in the phone itself and it purely seems to be software related.
I have no credits left on Wotan so I can not try another software version.
Anybody who recognizes this problem and can lend me a hand?
Thereby I have another question: my works will provide me a new K850i next week.. will my data from my K800i be compatible with this new K850i?

if you mean by "data" then most things should be....contacts...sotred messages etc, notes, should be fine...music, pictures also....themes however will apply but may look strange AFAIK

You can use MyPhoneExplorer to backup your stuff. It's a great piece of freeware.

It's done.
I sold my defect K800i for 90€ to the store and bought a new K810i there A nice deal in my eyes (a new K810i for only 140€). Now let's put some games and great themes on it ;D |
