Always? I didn't know there were that many 905s in the UK. Or have you started reading the Japanese forums?

Yeah but I am always reading of calls dropping of with the 905. If they were more stable then more people would consider them.
SH905i's are the most stable ones.

You could definitely buy a the 905i series phone from Japan, simhack it, and use it in Europe. Pray to god that's the same for 906i series.
I have a SO905iCS and it's so good... but some features cannot be used here such as GPS, geotagging and i-mode.
Waiting for unlocking by software.
I don't think so, that will be software unlock About call stable- if you wil take iNEX SIM, call stable will be >90proc. |

Hi all,
I recall having asked Sony Ericsson this question about why they release different handsets in Japan and Rest of the world - here was my response (although it was a while back) -
'Thank you for your query regarding the Sony Ericsson handsets.
The two markets are very different.
Japan are further ahead in technology than anywhere else.
For example, 3G handsets are not available in the USA because the USA do not have access to 3G networks.
We suit customer needs and demand. This demand and need varies for ifferent countries.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

So there you have it...straight from the horses mouth, well sort of...a horses mouth...
Sony Alpha.

Haha, they never quite answer questions as you'd like them to. They avoid going into any detail which may make them look bad. For example, with the considerable success of the N95 which is probably the closest to Japan spec available to us, how can they possibly think markets outside the Japan don't want really high tech stuff? The N95 sold heaps! Thats gotta say something... People want all that they can get.

I know its only an example, but hey, only US doesn't have 3G, and if you go east, the whole Europe and Middle East and North Africa have 3G and use it too ? so why they don't ?

I've just been invited to the press meeting at the 17th here in Denmark (unfortunately I can't go, but that's another story). Anyway, the invite pretty much says that it's about new trends, innovative products, extra-ordinary experiences and that I'd see how "Sony Ericsson moves today's borders of communication" or something like that.
Damn, that breakfast looked darn nice!

Brillilant, that sounds promising. Very hard to tell what they're going to show from the official blurb. Moving todays communication borders and all that, very cryptic.
