"I [SE] reaching new heights" means Pari5 will have better processor.
but 208 MHz may not be too bad, if it has 2 processors in single chip like some TI stuff. If good performance can be achieved at low frequency, then it is going to save a lot of power.....

Well...i am not sure of course...but also, remember its expected that UIQ 3.3 will be less RAM heavy

I think MORE...

And it was also said (gliatiotis) that his proto loaded some basic apps on start-up like Contacts and Messaging so things point more towards more memory on board. Him having UIQ 3.0 instead of the new UIQ 3.3 should not change this aspect...

Ok...he answered me and said 96mb is FREE RAM - this is way above P1/W960/G900/G700, that also have total 128mb, but have around 80mb at boot - so UIQ 3.3 must be less RAM heavy?

Ares:
Nope, Bear in mind that UIQ 3.3 is based in Symbian 9.3 - this version has a feature called "Demand Paging" - the RAM itself is 128Mb and 75MB has been eaten by the OS at fresh boot, but with the paging process, RAM consumption of the OS was compensated by the hardware ram module and the demand paging feature thus resulting to 96Mb free

So guys, if that UIQ 3.0 - 3.3 update is possible to all phones which will bring demand paging to old and weaker UIQ 3.0 models, then it's also possible for the helpless P990 users to update their OS to 9.3 since the version can compensate with the hardware limitation on the RAM issue

I would love to but I doubt it. Oh well, we can stick with our Z310 lighting effects or the W890 for now =(

Very nice lighting effects indeed.
People here are defending SE's policy claiming that the Japanese phones are always 1 year ahead of rest of the world. I don't understand why SE has to do it (and I certainly don't like it) but assuming that's how SE wants it shouldn't we be seeing optical zoom and an improved (exmor) camera sensor this year from last year's SO905i.
Let's see what Shiho brings but it doesn't look good if they're still running the megapixel race (8MP) when they should be concentrating on quality.

I hope G900/G700(and hopefully the old UIQ 3 phones) would recieve an OS update to have UIQ 3.3 on top of it
