Well I'am a Solid SE Supporter and had all the K Series of the phones.

I received the K850i on Monday 15th Oct to which I have used it this week with out any problems. (o2 handset)

Ok the phone has a few bugs, but thats ok. I can live with these as i know they will get resolved in the next few firmware updates.

However Come to switch the phone on today (Saturday) and nothing.

You press the power button and the phone key light come on, then the screen and thats it. The phone keylight then comes on and goes of, then on and of and so on.

I plug the charger in and it says battery is virtually full (So thats not the fault). Tried turning it on with the battery and charger connector and it does the same again. Keylight just flashes.

So as i cant get into the phone to do a reset I have removed and replaced the battery some 100 times, different sim cards, tried a reset by removing the battery on a number of occasions while the phone key light is flashing and nothing.

When the phone keylight flashes the phone cant be switched of, so the only way is to remove the battery.

Now the following phones (K800/K790/K610/V630/K618) also had the same fault with not powering on, So I thought SE would have learnt?

Now im hoping its a one of, however I have also seen one other instance on here with a K850i and a vodafone phone i beleive some where? (I might be wrong!)

I get my Replacement sometime next week (fingers Crossed) Now im ok with that, but im not impressed that the phone seems to have the same fault as a couple of previous SE handsets.

I have enclosed the Pics so you can see what i mean

This picture is when you first turn the handset on (Keypad lights come on as normal)

Then the screen comes on as normal

Then the keypad lights just come on and of then, thats it

When the keypad lights come on and flash, So does the ring around the Camera lens too

I will keep trying over the weekend to even see if i get life from the phone. But i dont hope for anything.

Sorry for the lateness of adding the pics. I clicked the wrong button when putting them on. (Too upset with my phone)

Thats not the same fault that the K800i used to have as that wouldnt do anything except flash the LED in the IR port.

As the K850i doesnt have a IR port, Then SE must have used the keyboard lights to replicate the non boot systems.

The fault is still the same, It doesnt switch on regardless of what lights flash.

Raaab, Yep it sure does. So Microsoft get BSOD (Blue screen of death) and Se Have BSOD/BWWK (Black screen of death / But with White Keypad)

Fun Fun Fun.

INITIAL-releases of fones USUALLY have flaws . . . major or NOT ! Though I did NOT encounter such problems with my K800 and K618 (as posted by the author) when I bought mine last year . . . [addsig]

There was a service Bulletin that was issues to all the SE service ceners regarding the same problem.

The problem was the system bios on the phone on how the phone switched on.

Although on the K850 Ive got a feeling that the fault is more software related with the phone not switching on. (Or hoping so)
