After seeing the Gadget Show this week I wouldn't have touched the iphone because of their comments on the poor quality camera, but seeing these photo's it seems to have the best cameraon a phone I've seen for a long while. Granted, it's only 2 mega pixel but even the cropped photo's have a real good quality to them with colour and depth and not much pixelation.
Plz Cybershot, take a leaf out of iphone's book, and look for better low light quality.

Sorry Lo-couk, but this thread is talking about the i-mobile 902, a camera phone produced by the Thai company SAMART. This is one of the few camera phones available today with a digicam-quality 1/2.5" 5 MP CCD sensor.
Maybe you just posted in the wrong thread?

"mobile-review" list its camera features,such as "AE Metering" , "Flicker Control","ISO".. etc...
I could really understand why do I need to control the "flicker" and what is "AE Metering"?

AE Metering = How the camera adjusts exposure (shutter speed and in some cases aperture)
Flicker Control = 50 or 60 Hz for the display backlight, to minimise flicker when shooting something that also flickers at a high rate

FYI: the sensor used in the i-mobile 902 is Sony's 1/2.5" ICX495 CCD sensor. The very same sensor has been used in a few Canon digital cameras, for example SD450 and S2 IS. So, kids, what you are carrying around is basically a proper P&S camera packed into that phone (if we forget about the small lens of course; the i-mobile 902 will not be able to produce the same quality of pictures as the SD450, but the difference is not very large, as my comparison shots earlier in this thread have shown).
Just for a comparison of facts and figures, the K850i uses Sony's 1/2.8" IMX020 CMOS sensor.
For an interesting comparison in sensitivity flip to the tables at the end of both PDFs and see that the CCD sensor is more than 2.5 times more sensitive than the CMOS sensor.

What about N95? all i know was that it was a Toshiba sensor but what kind?
and the recently announced Japanese  phone SO905iCS - which was said to be EXMOR CMOS sensor - same type used in sony alpha a700 but how large? what's the model name?

I was only searching for Sony sensors, mainly due to the i-mobile 902 using one, and the rumors before the K850i were launched, that it would also use the same sensor.
I would expect Nokia's 5 MP sensor to be similar to the IMX020, maybe slightly larger. If I find the exact type with specs then I'll let you know.

The N95 is using a Micron Technology MT9P001 1/2.5" CMOS sensor: source.

So GSMArena is wrong to conclude that K850 has smaller sensor than N95. now i'm more convinced that without that JPEG compression + NR + saturation boosting N95 pictures would look worse than K850 i just can't imagine that a Sony Cybershot W-series camera has only 1/1.8" CCD sensor yet ithas more megapixels and better image quality than imobile's. yeah i know it's a mobile phone, but i wanted to pinpoint the advantage that can be brought by an experienced manufacturer of cameras. better implementation of lens, better algorithm, better type of lens used - all of those will make K850 better than 902 if Sony have been the one to design K850 camera before
