Our new product, LinkBoy, is released today. The purpose of the program is to provide highly customizable extra shortcuts for using either as a standalone link collection, or as a supplement for the standby screen.

Advantages of using LinkBoy:
- You can choose (1) to display LinkBoy's icon panel over the standby screen, or (2) to use it separately as a standalone link collection, or (3) both.
- You can have up to fifteen more shortcuts on the standby screen than otherwise.
- On the standby screen you can still see operator, area message, media player, alarm, and timer.
- On the standby screen you can still use keypresses to navigate built-in shortcuts, furthermore to switch silent mode and phone lock.
- Selectable shortcut types extend to practically anything that you have on your phone (see below).
- You can select any image for using as a shortcut icon, including large or transparent ones.
- You can have customizable captions under each shortcut icon.
- You can access the Service menus without remembering keypresses.

Shortcut types provided by LinkBoy:
- All built-in and installed applications.
- All system settings that are present in the Control panel.
- All multimedia file types for which your phone has a viewer.
- Any web site or individual web page.
- Start communication with individual contacts, like call, SMS, MMS or Email to a person.
- Create a new entry for built-in applications, like Calendar, Notes, Sound recorder, and so on.

Fully functional trial can be downloaded from CellPhoneSoft, My-Symbian, and other major resellers. Enjoy the program! Comments and suggestions are welcome as always.

Latest version is 1.52.

Does this one have one touch wifi on/off? One touch bt on/off? How about being able to add two or more actions to one shortcut?

Both WLAN and Bluetooth can be made a shortcut (type is Setting), although not one-touch.

How about being able to add two or more actions to one shortcut?
Interesting idea. It looks like possible, but it would inevitably make the configuration quite complex - so we wonder if many people want this.

i hope SE learn something
Unlikely.
My learned colleague, who has already started celebrating the release of the new program (as usual) with booze (as usual), is saying that it's all okay, as the best ecosystems consist of giants (that produce a lot of shit) as well as dwarfs (that can process the shit fast and well)

I prefer Gdesk...

Of course i suppose the linkboy if you buy it might give us more freedom to create and move items?

It does not depend on buying it as the trial is fully functional. Let us know what you mean by freedom so we can improve it in later releases.

If we understand you correctly then what you describe is by design. LinkBoy's icon panel must disappear as soon as anything obscures the standby screen, but come back as soon as the standby screen itself is displayed again.

Hey, GDesk is a great app!. Even if you need something that only LinkBoy can give you, there is nothing against still using GDesk (well, unless available memory is scarce). Also, notice that you can have the two apps linking to each other.
