The so called fringing comes from the sun, anyway in this case.
But it should not be pink / purple. Its a bug / feature of the SE camera / lens. Its why many of Planktons pics are very red where they should be blue. Zoom into the sky and you will see far too many red pixels.

Well i don't see a problem here. The light beams of the sun is just spreading/reflecting themselves over the motif. Maybe it would be a little tiny winy bit lesss purple...nah not a problem for me. If you look at the sun don't you get the feeling the the light is spread? or do you just see the sun itself? And remember : It's a cam in a phone!
My point is: There will be "fringing" it's natural. And the sunbeams consits of ,among other colours, purple. Maybe it shouldn't be quite as purple but it doesn't bother me much and it might be fixe in forth comming firmwares. And i think when taking shots straight towards the sun- you are asking for trouble.
What bothers me thogh is the fact that dust is emigrating in to the camerahousing! Grrr
My shot: Yes fringing but look at it as a whole! Nice! If i might say so
Auto everything

I downloaded the original pic from Plankgatan's post and edit it using photo Dj - in K850i - and see the result

think the MC-picture looks amazing..(and no, its no major pink color in it...calibrate your screen or buy a better one..I have a good screen and there is no major pink when i look at it)...why nagg about a pic who end up nearly perfect ?????..

He did, and I said its not straight from the phone like that.
@ Fullforce
Yes a pretty pic, but there should not be all that pink in there chap, it should be white or possibly yellowish.

Never said it was not a nice pic for a phone cam... but there is too much red in the sky created by the lens / plastic cover. It could also be software created too. Fullforce is seeing the same thing. Look in Photoshop / Aperture and you will se the red channel has far too much in the overall image. Sample the sky to see. Also zoom into the image and you will see too many red pixels.
My screen is plenty good enough, my system is also calibrated for design work at great expense. Regardless of any calibration, just look at the levels in any decent image app and you will see it.
Agree the pic looks even better when adjusted, but guess what, you removed the red and added more blue to the image to correct it You really shouldn't have to do this to this extent.
Even the N95 shows some colour variance, just not as much as the K850 does currently. I say currently as Nokia have had more time to develop and improve on the phones firmware.
If the issue is hardware based (lens/lens cover) then SE can compensate by applying a different colour table to the image before its compressed in order to increase the accuracy of the colour balance... just like has been done in PhoDJ in the phone.
I'm not criticising you, I'm criticising the phone - but you seem to think this is the same thing here

@tai - Nice shot ! That's a taaaaaall building indeed . . . how did you manage to take a snap on that Looks like you've got a STIFF-neck after shooting it
Lolz theres many buildings of this height in my country ^^ and this picture was taken after a bad drizzle. I used cloudy profile cas the skay was, well, cloudy xD Here's another one, also taken in cloudy mode:

Another taken in auto mode, stabilizer ON.

Auto mode, Stabilizer OFF if I'm not wrong.

In future I will try my best not to take picture using Stabilizer cas they tend to produce a red tint to the picture, also it tends to make the picture look a bit rougher. I prefer without stabilizer. |

Easy now lads! Yes there are purple fringing but we get differently disturbed about that. I hope SE will tweak this a bit in the forth coming firmware. No need to get into a poinless argument and take everything personal. |

my tip to you: calibrate your screen.....its NO major bug or something wrong with blu skys on pictures, etc, etc....(why have nobody/you mention it before, untill right now)
i ask two of my classmates what they thought (no bullshit story)...they look at both pictures, (with auto level and whitout)...both said they didnt see any bigger or smaller pink color
they only thought that the pic with autolevel look little "to good", (they saw the different between the colors in autolevel)
