ha and for BT Broadband customers you get (for free)......
"BT Openzone allows you to surf the Internet from over 10,000 wireless 'hotspots' in the UK. You get 250 inclusive minutes for each month of your contract."
(sorry but i do think this helps put the iphone 'marketing' into perspective....)

Thats a lot less than i spend now, so for me its not too bad. Definitely could afford this, just a case of knowing that a better one will come out beofre then end of the contract for sure

Anyone think we'll be able to just buy the iPhone at £269 from an Apple Store and stick in an existing PAYG SIM?
If not, I'll just stick with my pre-order iPod touch and my trusty Sony Ericsson W610 (on PAYG since O2 stopped 0844/0845 numbers).
I'd prefer to wait for at least a 3G version of the iPhone. It'll also have to be cheaper initially, on a cheaper contract for me to consider it.

It's not a load of rubbish - just parts of it!
It will appeal to people who want the best touch-screen user-interface, the best media player and the best mobile web browser in a small form factor, along with very average phone and email features plus Visual Voicemail on a relatively slow EDGE network.
'Most' people do use their phones only for simple calls and texts, but would welcome the iPod, web browsing and video playback features in the same device.
Although at that price, I'm not sure how it will sell.

Perhaps the most interesting fact from this announcement is for existing O2 customers:
O2 will be rolling out unlimited-data contracts to existing customers starting 1st October.

Is this for when people upgrade to the iPhone or is it for EVERYONE?

Well, with Vodafone announcing the Nokia N95 8GB due out Dec 07, we'll soon see how the 8-Gig-phone-market pans out....

Hi all,
OK i have an interesting question that i am interested if some one could answer, is it not true that under EU law the Networks have to sell you an unlock code? So doesn't that insure you will be able to unlock your iPhone once bought? or if there is no such thing as an unlock code selling it locked is illegal?
There is another question i have which is i have always been led to believe OSX has much better security and is one of the reasons that there are no virus outbreaks on Mac's. If this is true how come so many have been able to break and crack all the iPhone locks and add functionality if as they claim it runs OSX?
Marc
