Oh good another person who hasn't readthe entire thread.
FIRST!!
The 200MB cap is on the current tarrifs ONLY!! the capping for the iPhone tarriffs has NOT been announced.
SECOND!!
You have to CHOOSE to update the SW on the iPhone, so only a DUMBASS would choose to do that when Apple were kind enought to TELL EVERYONE that they had sorted the holes, and that unlocked iPhones would no longer work after the update. If they really wanted to screw everyone do you think they would let you CHOOSE whether to update, NO, iTunes would just do it next time you plugged in your phone.
Watch Out for our Upcoming Retail Store!! |

Actually in the interview with steve jobs and the CEO of O2, they stated that exceeding 1400 pages a day would be going over the fair usage policy. That doesnt say anything about the data rate though.
And when they were asked if this unlimited data plan would be made available for other tariffs, they said 'yes from the 1st october'. That leads me to believe it is the same data tariff as the Iphone will be getting.

Ooops, a survey by YouGov says only 1% want iPhone.
"People know all about the Apple iPhone, but they are not prepared to pay £269.99 for it, according to a survey by YouGov.
Twenty five percent of respondents expressed 'a high likelihood' of buying the handset after they were shown a list of its features. But this fell to 1% when they were told that the handset would cost £269 and the minimum monthly contract would be £35."
If Apple get wind of this then may be they and O2 will drop the prices somewhat.

Todays launch has been a bit muted. There was, according to the BBC, only 20 people queuing. Hardly any of he hoo-har that was seen in the US.
