i have checked coz i have backup folder of K810.. there are no files inside my

tpa/system/MULTIMEDIA/mp

its from K810 R1KG APAC RED52

is that extracted from fs, in which case it have nothing. But if you use the default_upgrade method you will see that the phone creates some files in there. (the ones I mentioned and some bin files)

I was able to extract the skin with this
http://mark0.net/soft-bitmaprip-e.html

here's the media player related icons from the K800 main - interestingly, I found a megabass image in amongst the images!

yeah i found that megabass icon last year , too

see here:

as i have written to you on se-nse, with extractor24.exe you can extract more filetypes out of the main, like avi, wav, midi, png, gif, etc etc

i know we can find the right hexvalues via se extractor, but the phone doesnt accept them and hangs

yes I agree, but extractor4 is shareware limit 30 images. So it's useless to me. If I enjoyed spending money on this shit, I wouldn't care, but I can't afford $50 AUD everytime I need some basic app. I got what I needed with bitmaprip, but couldn't get what I needed with extractor4 because of the 30 image limit.

So in my book, bitmaprip beats extractor4.

I know it's frustrating. I was sorta hoping K800 would be less buggy than K750

There is another method, that apparently doesn't cause this error. If you copy the right named icons into an icon folder within the tpa/ssystem folder, then the phone will use those icons rather than the embedded ones. However we don't know the hexadecimal names for the various elements. If we can get SE Extractor working for K800 then we would have the hexadecimal names of the images, we could then skin the player (or any icon in the phone), by placing the icon with the correct name in the icon folder.

With my K790, this method also causes the phone hang!

@max_wedge: the SE Explorer gives the right hex-values. YOu have to look at the screensizes he gives, ie 240x236 is there only 1 time, its the mediaplayerskin. If you try to get the icons in the tpa/system/icons-folder the phone everytime hangs when triying to open the playericon, so it doesnt work that way

i just download many MAINs and extract them and found this:
in the same model (for e.g. K790 R1GB001, K790 R1KG001, K790 R1EG001 with CID49,51,52),all the icon names and position in the "Extractor" are almost same !!!

Also, the easiest way to find out the name of the icons is comparing the position of K800 icons (colored dots) with W900 (that you can see clearly)

@Max Wedge

What do you think that happened on my music player? I have no idea!
That was so weird man!
So weird that I had to search for my webcam drivers on driverguide.com, install it and take a screenshot...

yes, it's very odd. In certain circumstances it does strange things. I've also heard that if you put transparent gif, you can see the desktop behind.

It's strange, as if the phone firmware allows for the possibility of defaulting to an image from camera folder in some cases, to what purpose I don't know
