yeah D900 is a good phone overall but u get only 60 mb memory aginst the 512 mb MSproduo+20mb embedded memory in w810i+the top class megabass functionality, decent battery life,FM radio with RDS etc. and etc.

but i think d900 would be a good deal for u considering the micro sd cards and superior cam.Can anybody confirm the mp3 playback on d900?

Two main concerns - boring and unimaginitive menus and no theme support - plus extremely short battery (3 days with almost no use). Not a good phone in practical aspects, but value for money is something it has on its side.
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for.

the d900 auto focus is a pain in the rear!!! you cant do it your self like on where you push the button half way and focus your self. on the d900, you click the confirm button once, does it itself, im not a fan of that. and when recording video, it saves to phone, u dont get an option to save to mem card. so you need to wait until phone memory is full, then you need to transfer it all over to the mem card in order to keep recording, a big hassle imho

Having had both phones at one stage or another it's really swings and roundabouts, what you're after in a phone.

I loved the look of the D900, nice and slim, I quite liked the feel of it's keypad (and none of those annoying touch sensitive buttons!) and has an excellent screen. The video recording is also excellent - this is something which a wish SE would improve on and get away from that crappy QCIF resolution!

The W810i has a megapixel less and and exposed cam module (which leads to wear to the camera's multicoating - no matter how careful you are!) whilst the D900 has the 3 megapixel camera - but no autofocus that I can see, despite it claiming to have it. Macro pictures on a D900 are a no-no!

MP3 playback was fine for me on both phones, though I'm no conneseur. The loudspeaker on the D900 was a bit louder and the quality was better though.

what do you mean by clicking confirm and is the autofocus in D900 is like the one in the sony ericsson phone? and BTW if i go to w810 which color do i choose black or white coz i kinda feel like buying the black one so it doesn't get dirty so fast

Sure the screen is absolutely gorgeous on the d900 but the pictures taken don't have detail- have a smooth fake feel. Another thing is the call quality on the d900, IT IS TERRIBLE! I also felt that the audio quality via the headset was woeful compared to the w810i. As mentioned by others video recording and playback is superb on the d900. If you decide w810i go with the black one- less visible dirt and scratches plus black looks classy IMO.

haven't really used the D900, but someone at work has got one, I briefly looked at it and found it difficult to flip the thing open without being worried about it flying out of my hand.

What concerns do you have about the W810i keypad? Mine is still looking as good as the day I bought the phone, I do a lot of texting. The silver dpad has not discoloured and the orange walkman button is still orange.
