The previous release of the P1 isync plugin was pulled back not long ago due to a bug, which caused the P1 to hang in some cases. This new version, shall have fixed that problem:

System requirements:

* iSync, version 2.3 or newer.
* OSX 10.4.8 or newer.
* Bluetooth
* Phone should be upgraded with latest software which is available via Sony Ericsson Update Service at http://www.sonyericsson.com/support

Requires ISync 2.03 or later and MAC OS X 10.4.8 or later

Any idea if this would work for P990i? The version number is the same (1.07) as for the P990 version. File sizes are different, however...

@Trevor

From what I have read at my-symbian it appears you have to wait for Leopard.

@JaJa

For P990 there is a separate isync plugin, however it seem to have been removed by SE at the moment. I'm sure it will be back soon.

Well I modified the plugin, and it did work as badly as the P990i plugin:

-duplicates contact fields
-does not sync all calendar items

Probably the P990 plugin is just modified P1 plugin, so that's why...

This is probably the old plugin posted again.

Does it work well for you? I have problems with the calendar appointments. Some of them are duplicated, all-day events are synchronized as 8:00am events and todos are not synchronized at all.

What is your experience?

Yes, this (and the P990 and W950) plugins are the same as the previous releases. They've moved location on the SE support site, and the only difference appears to be the instructions have been updated to include:

NOTE: Disable the power saving mode in the Bluetooth settings on the phone.

Neither. They just updated the instructions as noted above.

and I would go as far as to say it's still shit.

On my mac's the behavior is totally spurious. On my older P/Book G4, it pairs with the P1i, and it adds to iSync, but when you try and run iSync, you can see it try to connect to the phone (you get the 2 opposing arrows), but then it just fails.

I have tried to have the phone in trusted mode, and untrusted (promts for connection) and the power saver is disabled.

Nothing. I have removed the plug in and reinstalled it, and still nothing.

Then strangely, I install in on a Macbook Pro and bingo, works perfectly.

I wonder if it's a Power PC vs Intel issue. It wouldn't work on either my G5 or G4 Laptop (Sync Failed message towards the end) but I can confirm it seems to be working quite well on my Macbook. All using the same version of Tiger and iSync.
