Hi,

I've had the phone just under a week now, all of a sudden when I press the camera button on the side the phone it crashes the phone. I have to take the battery out and re-start it. I've tried going into multimedia and starting the camera from there but it does the same.

Anyone else had this problem?

I think i'm going to have to get a replacement.

have you tried doing a master reset? warning all data may or not be deleted from the phone.

The exact thing happened to my P990 after it got soaked in pool water, every other function seemed to work flawlessly though. If you ask me, it's probably liquid damage

I've tried a master reset which hasn't done anything.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I have just taken delivery of my replacement P1i and THAT has a very similar problem. The phone works fine, when i press the camera button it goes to "initializing Press 0 for help" it's been stuck on that for 5 mins now.

I can press the back-up button this time and it will go back to the phone.

Thanks for the responses however neither phone has been anywhere near liquid.

Am i the only one with this problem?

I've got exactly the same problem on my p1i too, never had the ability to use the camera since I bought it. Has anyone found a workaround in the past 10 days or so

This also happened on mine, although just once. I just turned the phone off and on again.

This is serious issue!! I don't think it's firmware issue anymore, it might be hardware defect, not only a bug... maybe i need to sell my phone off while it's still in working order

About camera... does night mode work for you people? Doesn't seem to have any effect on resulting images for me...
