o2 MMS settings |

I got my k750i a couple of weeks back but had not used it. I have come to send an MMS message and it connects but then comes up with a message saying, sending failed, Service not available,
I have sent the settings via o2 website + the ones via sonyericsson site.
I have rang o2, and they say that everything looks fine at their end, and they have even re-sent the settings to my phone.
Anyone got any ideas.
Cheers Paul

Hi
This may or may not be the problem but have a check anyway. Go to Menu>Messaging>Settings>Picture Message>Internet Profile
This should be O2 MMS or something related to O2 at least if it is say Orange MMS there lies your problem. If it is wrong then just click edit and choose the right one from the list provided.
Also just to make sure in the same menu make sure the message server is set to:
http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
As that could also throw things if it is wrong.
Finally one last thing is when you get O2 to send you the settings make sure you have the correct ones for the way you pay as O2 have different settings for Contract & PAYG customers.
Happy playing and let us know if you get it working.
Cheers

you should only be using postpay settings, not prepay settings, you might want o2 to go through the settings manually on your mobile phone, if they are saying everything is ok on der end, then its the settings.
dont always rely on the automatic settings, go through it manually with o2. |

Last thing then as I have a simplicity tariff too is to go to menu>settings>Connectivity tab>data communication>data accounts and pick the MMS account you are / should be using from the Messaging settings
they should look like this:
APN - wap.o2.co.uk
username - o2wap
password - password (or stars but retype it to be sure)
login request - off
allow calls - automatic
IP address - ...
DNS address - ...
Authentication - PAP ticked
Data compression - off
header compression - off
These are the settings on my simplicity tariff and work fine.
If this doesn't solve your problem then as already mentioned it could be a temporary network thing, travel a few miles to a different mast and try there. If that works it is your local mast at fault.
Apart from that I have no further clues sorry..
Hope you get it working

@Mr Miyagi,
I have gone through everything with o2 manually, and still no joy.
@Sooteee,
All my settings are the same as yours. Will keep you up to date.
Thanks all for you replies.

I couldn't send MMS messages for a while as O2 had disabled it on my account when I added an Additional handset, and they only realised and reactivated it on my third phone call to customer services!

When did you get the Simplicity Tarrif from O2.
Also when you put the sim card into the K750i phone did you get a text from o2 welcoming you and saying that you will now get some settings to update your phone?

Got the tariff around 3 weeks ago, but the mrs has been using the phone whilst my other contract ran.
Yes, when the sim card was put in, I did receive the texts that you mention.

I called 02again last night to which he replied, oh yes, it does seem like there is something wrong, I will just change it for you.
Turned the phone on before and hey presto, all is working fine.
o2 Customer Service has something to be desired.
Thanks all for your help.

They prob forgot to activate MMS at there end I guess
if you use a iMode phone then put your sim in another handset then this causes your MMS to stop working lol
I had this same issue with a Samsung Z650i then changed it for a K800i lol
02 reckoned it ws the handsets fault it wasn't though, silly idiots replaced it and I had to ring 02 online about the problem still then they told me that
