Hi all,

thought to start this thread, could be interesting.

What our your thoughts on the possibility of flashing the P1i with W960 firmware, once it's available? What are the main hardware differences, apart from the keyboard? I gather that the 8Gb of the W960 is much like a built-in m2.

Could be interesting for those of us who don't want to wait for the W960 but wouldn't mind some of it's features on their P1i!

Post your thoughts!

The W960 has no qwerty keyboard and 8GB memory. They are the main differences about from the physical look of the phone.

Tbh I don't think it would be possible easily, instead I think you need to look into flashing the player into the P1.

I reckon the keyboard will be the main problem, a bit like the problem when flashing a K800 with K810 firmware. The memory of the W960 is basically like a 8Gb m2 card. Also I don't think the W960 has an accelerometer (ie shake feature). I've been told that 'motion control' is something different and not to be confused with shake control?

Wold be great if its possible. Besides the keyboard an memory key positioning would be another obstacle, however im not sure if that would effect the flashing. When i flashed my d750i t0 a w800i it worked beautifully, but the butoons and everything was pretty much the same in that case.

Wait im a bit lost,so the W960 has the Motion Feature BUT no shake control (accelerometer)? I thought al of this was ONLY for the Java Platform-8 SEs, anyway, i think flashing P1 with W960 FW wil be like the whole K800 -> K810 situation with the keypad, but isnt P1 going to come with an unbranded Walkman3.0 like the K850?

This is now possible through SE Tool. Apparently all you lose is the qwerty keyboard and M2 slot. However you will get the new Walkman 3 and a nice looking UI.

PM me if you want it doing!

Oh and aslong as the CDA isn't changed you should be able to put your phone back to P1 firmware using SEUS if you want a play with W960 and decide if you want it or not!

the qwerty would probably not work but you would get the normal keypad to... the expandable m2 slot would probably be disabled too...

even with certain hardware missing this would be an interesting flash
