USB Charging Question K800i |

When I setup my USB connection i swore there was a step or a setting somewhere you could toggle charging via USB or not. It charges on my computer, I took it to my moms house, and it wasn't setup on their computer, and it wouldn't charge, then i was trying her iPod charger (USB) and it wouldn't work. (Which is my ultimate goal so it can charge from a USB charger, or any UBS port)
Is that setting in the phone, or in the software somewhere? Drivers? so the phone wont charge from any USB?
Thanks!

Found the setting in the service menu. It is turned on. So, the phone will only charge on my computer (which the driver's are installed) Anyone else had issues with this? trying to charge from any USB port without the software being installed?

I tried that option in my PC (using Vista Ultimate) so when I turned off the phone wasn't charging on the USB cable. But I tried my phone at a friend's PC (XP SP2) without the drivers and it charged... Weird...

ok, I remembered that computer is actually very old (but has been updated to XP), it could possibly have USB 1.1, which i heard wont support charging sometimes.
I just tried it on my '04 DELL Laptop, and it tried to install the drivers, but no charging feature... I would think once the power becomes available it would charge instantly...?

Just plug the phone and it will charge. Some can only charge up to 80% capacity (current issue) - has to be minimum of 500mA.
Try to turn USB charging off and plug the phone, then try to turn it on again. |

I am not sure about K800, but I am sure about K610 which requires drivers in the PC to use USB charger. I think K800 also requires driver though USB 1.1 may be anoter issue. |
