Hi all,
I have been told that the new K750 Camera is inferior to the Old K750's. Because they were expensive.
I have 2 K750s one is old and one is new.
I want to know if i replace the camera of the new one with the old one will its gonna be better in picture quality.
because my old K750 which is cid36 is almost dead
and my new K750 is cid49.
Please help me friends should I do this or not.
any instructions are most welcome.
I have opened the housing of my k750 several time and i am familiar with that i just what to know that
If i replace the camera of my new phone with the old one are the pictures gonna be better?
I am not satisfied with the picture quality of the new one. Old one was just great.
Thanks in advance
Regards. |

The camera is the same and it wont have difference in picture quality. Because it's the SAME phone hardware no matter the CID version or software... After all you can get better pictures with you current camera on the CID49 K750 by applying new camera driver.

Speaking of cam drivers, how do they actualy work? |

The camera driver of K750/W800/W810 (camdriver0.dat) is a file that "tells" the camera how to take your picture. It regulates the picture size, color, white balance, brightness, contrast, sharpness and etc... By modifying the default camera driver you can get better picture, sharper better color and etc... also better video recording and many other options that lack in the default camera driver. After all you cannot change the camera interface, only it's parameters.

I'm not sure now what could cause that problem, but after all man, if you decide to change the camera, here is a good picture guide for you. Mechanical repairs of K750 (including parts replacement). I hope you find it useful.

@amar - My thoughts . . . if it will be replaced by a qualified-technician . . then go ahead . . . my if it will be some sort of a - practice you MIGHt just end up having TWO dead cams on your K750 after all pal
If I were you . . . I'll just leave it as it is . . .
Good Luck !

@amar, you may be right. I have read it some time before on harvard forum that the new K750 were shipped with a little inferior quality camera. |

i think this is gonna make a difference because even i read this somewhere that the new camera quality is inferior to the older ones.
But I need some expert advice only then i will get it done.
@all Camdriver Developers: What do you say frnds?????? Please share some views from ur expertise. |

I don't know exactly about the quality of the pictures as the cameras as hardware parts look the same. IMO i think the "lower quality" pictures problem is the software of the phone. As I have friend's K750 put the same camera driver I'm using in my W800 and the phones make EXACTLY the same picture. No difference is noticable... (His K750 is 2 months old so I think it counts as "newer" one) .

about the cam quality on newer k750's.....that is indeed true.... i have tested like 3 or 4 k750 phones from different manufacturing datesand the newer ones have a lesser quality camera sensor.... i will post some examples when i get home.... in the meantime... everyone can do this.... take your k750, dont mind the drivers, and take a photo in a place with low lights without adding any effect( no macro, no nicght mode, nothing) and put that photo on the forum.... so we can see your camera flaws (mostly visible with low light)
yer olde k750
yer newer k750
yer crappier k550

yeah on new k750 you can see horizontal and vertical lines on the screen in low light conditions.
but this thing was not there with the old k750.
i think i will get the camera part replaced today and see what happens. |
