-BLUETOOTH HANDSET INCLUDED (!)
-8GB INTERNAL SPACE
-TOUCH SCREEN USING FINGERS
-NICE,SLIM DESIGN
-RAM
(-)
-NO MEMORY SLOT (owners of older se's smartphones have sticks up to 4gb..)
-NO GPS
-NO WIFI G
-SAME SCREEN,GRAPHICS CHIP,PROCESSOR AS P990 A YEAR AGO
-CAMERA (They should use a 5MP camera and not split the good specifications in different phones)
Of course if the price remains below 600euros from the begining this will be a good value for money...and of course it's not a flagship phone...like p990 was

I'll tell you a REAL flaw. Although SE makes increable OSE platforms this UIQ phone will have the SAME flaw. ok I'm browsing on Opera Mini or playing a game, and wish to make a quick call. Do I start dialing the number, no I cannot. I need to press the Shortcut Key, click on main menu, and goto my address book to pick the listing of someone I know...
I don't know about the OSE phones, but UIQ3 models like the the W950, M600, and shortly W960 aren't like that. One squeeze of the "back" button will always get you back to the standby screen, from where you can just go ahead and dial, or select a contact. Oh, and the calls menu always list last dialled/received as well as missed.

it has flash, 2 of them infact
on a side note: i think i overhyped everything in my head not too excited by the phones, except for the w910 for some odd reason and the w960 is too similar to their other smartphones

Whats new in Walkman 3??just a new UI??
here's a screenshot of the new ui, not sure how close to finished this is though...
i must say i am overly excited about this phone, it seems SE have fulfilled my wishlist for this year, which was symbian, touch screen, wifi, 3.2mp cam with flash & excellent design.
all the other features are just a bonus.
i will definitely be buying this! |

You really cannot be serious when you say
"Do uknow the difference in real life experience between hsdpa and umts?! It's so liitle!!! this is not comparing gprs and umts! So I think thats not a big stuff! The phone is brilliant although the lacks of hsdpa!! For me it's brilliant! It's all I need in one - walkman + symbian uiq 3.1(+all great apps & etc stuffs around the OS) +wi-fi+bluetooth stereo headset and bluetooth hands-free in-box+8gb in-phone memory+great desighn/small sizes+nice touch screen(touch scren is very important for OS based machines, only because of this main minus I dont like N95..)+many others! "
Well first point is the difference between HSDPA and UMTS as you put so little at all the difference is max 384kbps to currently 1.8mbps rising to 3.6mbps hopefully by the end of the year on then on to 7.2mbps so on this you are very wrong I'm afraid.
We get you wouldn't like the N95 after all it's not an SE is it.
I really like the looks of this phone i think it is great but as some have mentioned the lack of HSDPA on a Data centric device to be launched late 2007 is not good IMO. The other points i am disappointed with is that it shares the same processor and graphics as the P1 although the same Ram is excellent but again for a device launching late 2007 i really don't get why they are still using the same old processors surely it can't be that expensive to upgrade to a newer chip as this will be a premium device for sure. What confuses me more is that HSDPA is coming in some of the other devices just not this one. The lack of HSDPA, WiFi and new chip is what rules out this otherwise great device from being viable for me.

Dude, than don't buy it! I will buy it or the P1, cause P1 is not official out and I guess 2960 will be for 2008.. Too late for new phone(in my case:P)
AsI said, if u wanna hsdpa go buy k850 and what? Will u brows with it just as with some touch-screen uiq with better web apps and screen..+wi-fi etc? U won't.. So buy whatever u wanna I do the same thing.. and for me in real life hsdpa and umts don't have some big difference!
Cheers:) |
