M$ have recently tweaked their Vista rating system because the total score is supposed to be out of 5. Some users got 6

My system scored 4.5 too but I'd advise anyone to take it with a pinch of salt. Vista needs plenty of memory and a fairly reasonable dedicated graphics card as opposed to shared graphics. Even a badly outdated geforce FX 5200 is enough to run Vista but regardless of your graphics card, you need at least 1 Gb of memory for decent performance.

i get 4.8 ; weakest link being my ram which is ddr1

@cyco the current vista ratings are meant to be out of 5.9..........as hardware evolves microsoft plans to increase the max cap so that finally when vista is retired the ratings would be out of a max of 10.

Ah right! I read that they were going to start including decimals in the final scores as well as the individual scores. Didn't know it was out of 5.9 though, it used to out of 5 didn't it?

With my old graphic card it was 1.0 LOL. But after a "small" update of RAM and graphic card it is 3.9 now . Btw I put 1 GB DDR2 in my PC (2x 512mb) and better graphic card (512 MB video memory).
