TBH the benefits of Vodafone support far out-weigh the benefits of debranding IMO. I've taken advantage of numerous discounts and special deals lately. Vodafone customer service is also much improved and I'm happy not to rock the boat by debranding.

Why would debranding affect Vodafone support?

What? You mean down here where there is only 1 GSM network who can dictate market terms? Unlock codes don't exist here, debranding is done by stealth and can isolate you from some Vodafone 3G services. Besides, I've had WSOD, broken hinges, cracked keys all repaired under warranty by NZ so I wouldn't want to void it.

Oh, for crying out loud! How many times must this be explained?
De-branding your phone only means that the phone's firmware (the software that YOU use to access the menus, etc.) is restored to the original Sony Ericsson version.
The phone remains locked to the provider's network.
The provider will neither know nor care if you have debranded your phone.
You will still pay them for their service.
You will still be able to call upon their customer services.
The earth will still spin on its axis and George Bush will still be a fukwit, like so many inhabitants of this puny space rock.

Definately, vodafone replaced my activity menu with a call end button on my w850. What really irritated me about it was when I debranded it and saw what I could now do.
