Good news for Mac users, Nokia has announced the public beta of Nokia Media Transfer.
"This new application ties-into some of the Mac’s major features, including iPhoto and iTunes, and operates over both Bluetooth and USB (dependent on your phone model, we guess). Supported handsets include pretty much all the Nseries but nothing else at the moment and you need Mac OS X 10.4.9 to run the app."
Mac owners are now able to transfer photos and music from their iPhoto and iTunes libraries onto their phones, and import into iPhoto back from their handset.

You've been scooped

Excellent new, though, and one more reason I may ditch for Nokia. does not natively support Mac OS X at all; just look at UIQ. And I can tell you, getting music from iTunes into a phone sucks - one more reason I'm looking for my W810's replacement. (It has already been partly replaced by an iPod Nano!)

had some issues with UIQ cause of the mrouter.. but otherwise i can use all se's as mass storage devices, isync and itunes without any issues... i use a mass storage isync app... that transfers music... |

Besides Themes Creator, what phone software runs on the Mac?
Yeah. I though so.

what more do you need on osx? pc suite is completely useless app
nokia's media transfer is equal to se's mass storage performance nothing more...
only good thing nokia has been doing lately is releasing isync plugins at a fast rate...

Guys I'm having some problems with this software - I can't seem to Check the boxes to Enable Sync With i-Photo - the system just won't allow me to put the tick in the boxes!
All seemed to be working fine EXCEPT for the 2 transfer to i-photo options. I was unable to tick these boxes. I deleted the software and re-installed but still had no success.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this option unavailable on the BETA version?
I was able to transfer all the pictures from the phone into i-photo.
But in i-photo a folder hasn't been created for the phone.
Just a thought - I've selected the option where-by i-photo is recognised as a digi cam. Could this possible be the reason why I'm unable to check the Enable iPhoto Folder Transfer option?
Thanks |
