Don't know but I would change my password if I was you.

Have you been using a PC which you didn't log out of Esato on?

Judging by the way that this thread has been put into garbage too, I don't think the mods believe that your account has been hacked!

However, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. It is possible to hack somebody's account using several methods that I won't mention for obvious reasons, but it's more likely that somebody you know used your computer without your knowledge, and you have the 'keep me logged in on this computer' check box ticked. Alternatively, somebody you know also knows your password!

Would that be possible? does anybody else have access to your PC that might want to play a prank? Do you ever use a publicly accessible computer like in a library or internet cafe?

Either way, change your password to something that would be very difficult for anybody to guess, make it at least 8 characters long and use numbers as well as letters.

I'm not having a go at you here, but you must admit that the chances of a complete stranger taking the time to hack your Esato account just to post a silly message seems rather remote to most people, that's all It's more likely that somebody you know is having a joke

EDIT: Sorry Goldenface, you beat me to it, didn't mean to repeat everything you said

@maggflodd

Yes the IP address is traceable but then again it could be something simple. It sounds like a PC was left unattended for sometime.

@cycovision

If I am using a public computer and I log onto esato then log off again, well if someone logs onto the same PC under a different username, will they still be able to access my esato if I have the 'log me on everytime....' box ticked?

No because once you've logged out, the automatic logging in function is cancelled. Any subsequent visitor to Esato, including you, would be presented with the normal forum page and would have to click the log in button.

It's done through cookies as far as I know and I assume that when you log out, the cookie is changed or deleted.

The topic in question was posted from the same mobile phone as you usually post from. The IP address was the same as well. You must have left the phone unattended for a while.
