No its currently not possible.
Smart phones can due to there software being Symbian.
This allows programmes to be wrote to to the software,
As SE is only uses Java, there currenlty isnt a java programme that can run exel sheets. (Well not to my knowledge)
sorry |

Save your excel document as a web page. Then you can view it on your K800.

Isn't there sometimes an add at the bottom of the forum home here on Esato. It's called Quipit, if I remember correctly and I think that let's you view Excel docs. on non-symbian handsets.

Hi all,
Well I'm very confused now because i was being told that Java can do anything a smart phone can do and now it appears it can't even do a simple little thing like opening Office Doc's. Oh dear and i was being told Java is a serious threat to S60 yeah right that really seems likely.

if a java phone can do all a smartphone can, then what's the point of making smartphones in the first place?

@antichrist
I'm not the one that was making the claim but according to Max Wedge SE and their implementation of Java is going to rival S60 and am sure Nokia must be quaking in it's boots NOT.
