w810i camera sound |

I bought a w810i from China, before it was out in Canada. It makes a capture sound every time I take a picture with it, and it's pretty annoying. Is it possible to take it off? People say you can take it off with "Far", but I googled it and I'm pretty oblivious as to what it is. I'm new to the whole cell modding scene...
EDIT: I searched it and didn't come up with anything helpful... Sorry if there was another topic on this already.
Any help would really be appreciated...

AFAIK you can change the shutter sound on W810, or if your network has a free call service number like to find out about recent calls or a balance. call it then during the call open up the camera and snap away with no sound. Those are two easy non modding ways around the sound. |

Just press # in standby screen (silent mode). No sound would be heard.

@Viscer this does not work in all countries, In some countries the Firmware is changed to always have a camera sound no matter what unless u are on a call as i mentioned before. Australia is one of these countries (where i live). The most sucsessful way to remove it is to be tricky with FAR manager.

SE4NICK,
This feature (with #) is workable on all unbranded phones (independently of belonging to country or region)

My phone is also unbranded I believe. My friend bought one from Rogers here in Canada and a lot of features are locked, ie he can't send and receive anything via bluetooth and he can't set a song longer than 30 seconds as ringtone. I'd like to know how to remove the sound by FAR Manager.
Thanks |

best answer would be to debrand the phone then update to latest firmware using seus.

I think my phone is already debranded though... Is there a way to check if it is? Absolutely nothing is blocked on the phone though, I can delete anything I want, recieve/send anything, anytime...
What I find a bit unusual is that because I bought my phone in China, I can't access the Internet... That's what they said when I asked why I couldn't... So it might be locked, but really I have no clue... |

Guys any help? My phone still makes the noise while it's on silent. It's been a couple of days and I've been patient but I'd really like to never hear this sound again in this lifetime. It's that annoying. |

just use far and remove "camerashutter.3gp" from " /tpa/preset/system/sound".
