Here is a guide how to change the walkman skin of your phone. Here are links of the files you will need to change the skin:

Exctact Walkman graphics from firmware patch (this is for W800 R1BC002 firmware version (CID36) and it wont work with other firmwares. You will harm your phone if you apply wrong firmware patch):

NOTE: If you want to apply this patch on other W800 firmware, you will need to download the same patch for the exact firmware. Some patches can be found here:

Once you downloaded these files for your W800 R1BC002 phone you need to start patching the phone. Actually you will need FAR manager and the SEFP plugin too. The folowing procedure is for W800 CID36 phones:
1. Turn off your phone, remove the SIM card and let the battery out of the phone for 30 seconds. Then re-insert the battery, but not the SIM card too.
2. Open FAR manager, run the SEFP plugin (press Alt+F1 and select SEFP).
3. In the SEFP window select your phone model (probably W800 as this guide is for that phone), type of connection (DCU60 Cable) and the maximum speed of trasfer you can see.
4. Click "Enter the Matrix".
5. As your phone is turned off, plug it into the PC using the cable and hold the "C" button pressed down on the phone until the loader breaks into the firmware. You can release the "C" button once you are prompted to do so.
6. When you enter the firmware you will see 2 folders: FLASH and FS.
7. Double click the FLASH folder and wait a few seconds while the loader works.
8. Once you are in the FLASH folder, you should see a folder named "memory". Do not enter that folder (it's just to be sure you entered the FLASH folder successfuly).
9. With the oposite panel of FAR, navigate to the folder where the patch is stored (where you downloaded the patch from the above link).
10. Select the patch, and press the "Copy" button in FAR.
11. Press copy again.
12. Now you should see the "FLASH window". Make sure the "Process VKP script" button is checked and there is no lenght missmatch with the patch.
13. Once you are sure you can start patching press the "Flash" button.
14. Now you will be warned that you are rewriting Flash area that contains EROM. Click YES if you are sure you want to continue.
15. Now wait some time while the phone is being patched. When done successfuly, you will get message: "VKP Patch applied OK!".
16. Now unplug the phone, exit FAR, remove the battery of the phone for some time and put the SIM card and battery together in the phone.
17. Turn the phone on now, but DO NOT enter the media player (walkman) now.
18. Once the phone is turned on connect it to the pc with the cable (regular connect without using far or etc...). Then exctract the sysgfx folder from the .rar archive you downloaded from the link above named as Walkman 2.0 look like icons.
19. Copy the "sysgfx" folder with the icons in it in the parent folder of your memory stick. (e.g. memory stick(removable disk):sysgfx(here are the icons).
20. Now unplug the phone from the pc and restart the phone.
You should have new skin of your media player now.
NOTE: This does not change the media player system files, but only the look of the media player so there is no any difference in sound or etc... Although the skin is named "Walkman 2.0" the look is not exactly the same as the Walkman 2.0 player the newer Sony Ericsson phones have. But after all if you don't like this skin, you can edit the icons in the "sysgfx" folder and make your own skin of the walkman.
WARNING: PATCHING THE PHONE WITH PATCH FOR THE WRONG FIRMWARE OR PATCHES THAT HAVE LENGHT MISSMATCH COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PHONE AND MAKE IT DEAD. SO EVERYTHING YOU DECIDE TO DO WITH YOUR PHONE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I OR ANYONE ELSE IS NOT RESPONSLIBLE FOR THE DAMAGE MADE TO THE PHONE DUE TO WRONG WORKING!!!

There is a much easier way...
Apply the patch to move the MP folder to User from System so you can update it using myphone explorer.. On CID49 phones, you have to breakin to update the files in System area... But not in User area...

Now unzip the files into the /tpa/user/other/mp directory and viola....
I also moved menu, camera, display, accoustic folders to user area... You can put it on a memory card as well but connecting the USB cable makes the phone loose access to the memory card area until you disconnect the cable.

When you load myphoneexplorer it brings up a window and menus on the left side and second last from the bottom has Memory stick and below that Phone memory...
This is the /TPA folder....
create "Other" in it... Right mouse click will show an option create a new folder...
Open Other and inside that create DRV and copy all your camera, dispay and accoustic files into it...
I have DRV, LA, MENU, mp, sound and a whole bunch of stuff to update the phone easily in there... LA is the layout, you need that to updat ethe layout if you change your menus to use full screen mode to remove the scroll bars...

Having the walkman skin changed by applying icons in the mp folder with far manager is an old and buggy way... The sysgfx patch should work better.
